Did Callahan throw SB XXXVII?

Featured Replies

Tim Brown and Jerry Rice are alleging he did. Obviously, Callahan denies it.

I'm inclined to say no, but the two guys putting forth the allegations give the idea credibility IMO.

Just wondering why it took Brown and then Rice 10 years to come out with these comments. Something just doesn't sound right.

That was my first thought when I heard that Tim Brown brought this up. What took him so long?

It gains ground when you see highlights where John Lynch is mic'ed. He tells Dexter Jackson exactly what is coming at least twice. One of those plays resulted in an INT that I believe was a pick 6. W/ all of the relevations going on right now that confirm long held suspicions, I put nothing out of the realm of possibilities.

Oh come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Throw the Super Bowl????? Rice and Brown add credibility? Are you kidding me??????? What credibility do they have? They got smacked by the Bucs plain and simple. Jerry Rice has ALWAYS been an idiot. Tim Brown too.

Those are two sore losers with an axe to grind with Callahan for some reason. That's it.

Jon Gruden built that Raiders offense and he spent the whole time before the Super Bowl teaching the Bucs defense the offense he built for the Raiders. The Raiders faced the worst possible opponent that Super Bowl. Gruden's fingerprints were still all over the Raiders and them knowing exactly what the Raiders were doing has nothing to do with Callahan throwing the Super Bowl. They got beat by a team that was absolutely and totally prepared to face them. Worst possible match up for Oakland.

The Bucs had the best defense in the league that year also.

PP92 is a bit cranky today, folks. He's usually not like this until close to suppertime. He'll be alright shortly.

I agree. That is a very strong point in the "this story is bull" column. However, if you read what Brown says and combine it w/ Lynch... conspiracies abound.

Maybe but I remember Lynch and the Bucs in practice that week going over the Raiders offense and then being happy when they were proven right in the game. It's easy to know the intricacies of the other team's offense when your head coach built the other team's offense.

I have to stop at Walmart on the way home too.....smh...

On Mike and Mike they said multiple players have come out saying the story is whacked.

You gotta love the timing of this - right as Jerry Jones announces to the world that he is not letting Garrett call the Cowboys plays next year and will have Callahan do so instead.

Quite possibly the most outrageous allegation in the history of sports. I'm not letting my mom win a championship if I'm playing her, much less a friend. And any of my friends would be ticked if I gave it to them.

Didn't the Bucs have something like 3 INT's returned for TD's that game? Was Gannon in on it?
