Who Has Grown Up On BGP?

Featured Replies

I realized that this year will mark my 10th year of being on BGP and it made me think, I practically grew up on BGP. This place has seen me go through playing high school soccer, basketball, and tennis (little fact not many know), join a fraternity in college as well as many other Student Life activities, graduated and traveled the country working for my fraternity's HQ, bought my first home and many good (with a few bad) times in between.

I feel like I was just a kid when I joined, getting in dumb arguements with other posters, been suspended a few times, and talking about myself and/or the Boone County Rebel basketball team as much as possible. Seems like a long time ago that I joined BluegrassPreps, but I'm very glad that I did.

So, anyone else literally grow up on BGP? Randy Parker, you don't count since you never age and are always 7 (However old you are haha!)

Most definitely for me. Started my midway through college, went abroad for a semester, met my future wife, drank a lot, got healthy, bought a house, etc. Virtually everything in my adult life has occurred while being apart of BGP.

I'm still very immature. Hoping to grow up a little while I'm on here.

Joined in the aftermath of Trinity's football state championship run in December 2001; that was my senior year in high school. Wasn't an active poster through most of my time in college but I've always been reading. Got back into posting a bit more during law school and since I've started my professional life I've gotten right back into the swing of this.

I've been hanging around this place for more than 11 years.

Knew I'd get a couple of these haha!

I've done the same MJ, I joined in HS to talk/read about our basketball team. 50,000+ posts later here I am. It's my 8 year anniversary. I'm part of the legendary 2005 BGP class. :D

Great draft class.

Andrew Bogut and Marvin Williams went 1 and 2 that seasons. Sounds about right... (do not bother looking it up, 2002 was worse :D)

The worst thing about growing up here: I know that there are some old posts of mine in those archives I'm now hugely embarrassed about. I was not in any way smart at age 19 or 20.

Perhaps the question for me would be "Who has grown old on BGP?"

No one is. Many think they are, but no.sssh.gifbiggrin.gif

My original join date was 9-21-2001. Wow, that was a long time ago.

All told between this and my old username I have right 20,000 posts I think....

Hard to believe that I've been on BGP for almost 11 years. I took a break of about 6 months, cold turkey. I don't post nearly as often as I used to, but I still browse the forums fairly regularly.
