1. Wallace got chest to chest with Frederick. I would not call it a bump.

 

2. Frederick pushed Wallace away and it looks like Frederick's elbow inadvertently as part of the push may have hit Wallace just under the chin.

 

3. Wallace did not like the push so then did a chest bump that included a push with his right forearm.

 

4. Frederick pushed Wallace back, less strongly than the first time, but reached up and pulled on the back of Wallace's neck.

 

5. Wallace then grabbed Frederick around the waist and the wrestling match that ensued ended with both players on the floor.

 

6. Frederick then threw a punch at Wallace.

 

I put both players at fault because they each took turns escalating the incident.

 

That's exactly what happened! My point was Wallace didn't throw a punch and Frederick did.

This was building. Go back a few minutes to an inbounds at half court. Fredrick is guarding Tyler jones tight and jones tries to get some separation. Fredrick draws the charge and as jones is standing pleading his case, Fredrick gets up and bumps shoulders with jones as he goes down the court.

One of the Montgomery County fans, perhaps a mother of a player posted on her FB that a CCH coach had their player by the "throat". Fans will see what they want to see or at least think they see what they want to see. Obviously this didn't happen. Stick with the facts and not hearsay. Crowds and their reactions never cease to amaze me. Being 20 feet from the action, all coaches from both sides, did their best to separate players and end the altercation as quickly as possible.

I do not believe any fans would want to see an adult grab a kid around the neck, by the neck or around the back of the neck/throat area. Obviously all fans, including you have an opinion of what they saw. I do not believe eyewitness testimony in any situation is 100% accurate.

Let's see, someone saying an adult has a kid around the neck is pretty significant event to post in public. I would hope they are certain. I am certain he didn't. Ask the poster if they can say the same.

The only person Baci grabbed was the CCH player he laid on to keep them out of the scrum.

I agree with this from what I could see. It's a shame the ref didn't get a double foul called as they were bumping and pushing just after the ball was thrown in and just before they started toward top of key. A strong whistle with a double foul and a discussion with players and coaches would have stopped it all.

I've seen lots of bumping in basketball games. I've done a lot of bumping in basketball games. Equating that with a punch is just inaccurate. One deserves a T, the other deserves an ejection. Both kids have to have more composure.

I didn't equate anything. I said the guy kept bumping and getting in his face. Kid reacted just like I would have. You don't get a free pass after initiating something just because you didn't throw a punch. One doesn't happen without the other.

 

As I have said from the beginning this is a whole bunch of no big deal to me. Hostilities happen when refs don't pay attention.
