I really wish they would invoke a rule to eliminate all the "yapping" that goes on out on the court. Maybe situations like this wouldn't escalate.

 

There is a rule. You T them up. You tell them before the game "no trash talking, no taunting, no baiting of the opponent." Pretty clear cut.

I haven't watched the entire game yet but from what I'm told yapping and unnecessary contact was going on from early in the game and from both sides.

 

We have 3 officials for a reason.

 

Officials are also told not to be friendly/chummy with coaches prior to the game. Say hello, smile, move on. You are to NEVER get into a conversation with a coach before the game nor give him a "hey, how's it going" hug before the game. Gives a terrible impression.

Osborne was not talking to the refs during the the trophy ceremony. He was talking to what appeared to be tournament officials and/or school admins.

On the second or third possession a call went in CCH favor and Happy started chewing on the refs ear, the ref said Happy is it going to be like this and Happy said yes it is and took off his jacket to prepare for battle. The ref quickly learned the hug method was off the to do list.

The head of officials for the BBA was at the game.

 

With Trinity and Mason Co coming up as the next two games for Montgomery, the two game suspensions will definitely hurt. Montgomery's depth is pretty young...

It's my understanding that assistant coaches are not permitted to talk to referees or argue calls. Do they usually get more T's than the head coach for this reason?

Babyjack, when you're the instigator of the incident and you then get punched I have no sympathy for you.

 

I would have thrown a punch as well had it been me.

Montgomery was up 20 with 4 min to go in the game, why on earth would Wallace want to fight? It was in the heat of the battle and they got tangled up and yes, Wallace pushed him. Just pushed! It's far from a punch! Fredrick went for his throat or face and then they went down to the floor where Fredrick threw punches. You obviously didn't see it very well. It's on ihigh.com. You are correct. If an assistant yaps you tell the head coach you're not listening to the assistant. Usually that fixes the problem. If not, you T.

I will do that. I'm told that he was indeed being hammered on. I very well might have if I was him.

Just started watching. CovCath had to LOVE the Scott County PA announcer introducing the MC coach in an overly excited tone saying "and local living legend...."
