What a game. Very fun to watch. Very physical.

I had a little different perspective than Clyde on the overview of the night.

Cov Cath played very physical defense early and a lot of fouls were called. The Cov Cath asst picked up his first tech for some over the top arguing which included flailing his arms around demonstratively which showed up the ref.

there was a Cov Cath adult fan who was walking out to the concession stand and said something to set off one of the referees who got the administrator and walked out into the lobby to point out the person - who was not to re-enter the gym.

I agree with Clyde that that the two were chest to chest. Wallace was more aggressive, but both seemed to be bumping and not backing off. I thought the ref should have called a double foul at that point to calm things down, but they didn't. And that was consistent because #20 for Cov Cath had been pushing Prewitt the entire second half. Prewitt would cross half court and be met with a forearm. The difference in Prewitt and #3 for Cov Cath is that Omar played through it. He didn't grab the other kid by the back of the neck like #3 did.

For this, I couldn't be more proud of O. It shows he has matured a lot.

I thought the refs got it right with the ejections. Wallace tackled #3 and #3 punched Wallace in his already broken nose. Hall joined in and had to be restrained he was so out of control.

It is my understanding that the CC asst coach had something to say to the refs while he was out on the floor. Not for simply leaving the bench to break up the fight. But once he was ejected he walked across the floor staring at the Scott Co AD saying "This is bull" which he repeated. It was a pretty classless night for that guy in my eyes.

I agree it was also classless for the Montgomery fans to boo the kid for making the all tournament team.

What stinks is that this was a great game of two pretty good teams and both were playing some pretty high level basketball. That will be overlooked because of the fight.

I didn't see any of the other stuff you mentioned so I'll take your word.

The instigator was clearly the MC kid. At 1:31:17 Fredrick passes the ball and it goes to the other side. Why did the defender come up and bump him when the ball was on the other side? He wasn't play defense. He bumped him again as Fredrick started towards the top of the key. Fredrick finally did grab him but I'm not sure what you really would expect a kid to do after that?

Again, no big deal to me. It happens. I'm not mad at any kid. Been there.

If Baci yelled the bull word then , yes, he deserved a T.

Darius Jones had two nice dunks. One of which was an and 1

Prewitt's slam toward the end of the game was with authority.

For Cov Cath, The coach's son is one tough kid. He never quit. Gave 100% at all times and really has a nice feel for the game. He doesn't make many mistakes for as much as he has the ball in his hands.

I haven't watched the tape but I was told MC's penetration killed CCH.

The bull word was after the T while he was taking the walk of shame and all eyes were on him.

I would agree with that. When Omar is hitting from all angles and Wallace and Jones are also able to get into the lane to create, Montgomery is pretty tough.

This will only further endear Coach Ruthsatz to the Bluegrass officials

Then why did he get ejected?

Why? From what I saw he handled it pretty well. Kept players on the bench.

Spot on assessment. assistant coach went toward the ref and said something about gaining control of the game and he was history. He was quite agitated in his approach which brought about an immediate ejection. The ref was primed and ready for him.

Coach R did a great job in breaking up the scrum and held the soon to be ejected MC player until an MC coach took him away.

Then why did he get ejected?

Because while he was out on the floor (after falling and then separating some kids) he had something to say to the ref. The way I understand the rule is that you can leave the bench to help break up the fight but you cannot address the refs while out there. I would think this would be especially true for an assistant who already got a tech earlier in the game.

Gotcha. I thought you meant he didn't say anything until AFTER he was ejected. Technically, an assistant gets a T for coming onto the floor during a fight. The head coach is allowed after being beckoned. So I spoke too soon when I said earlier that he shouldn't have been T'd. Although, if he was just there to help then I wouldn't "notice." You can't run your mouth though to an official in that situation.

I didn't see it but have had several people tell me that #3's dad went up to the Scott Co superintendent, former superintendent Blankenship, and the Toyota rep to express his displeasure in a pretty obnoxious way.

Really???

Coach B was instrumental in separating the participants too as you can see.
