I caught the second half of this one on the feed. I really thought (prior to the game) that CovCath would roll in this one. MC up 23 at one point and pulling away...not what I expected.

 

As far as the brawl, I really couldn't tell what happened but I will say I've seen A TON of high school basketball games and have never seen punches thrown....really ashame for both teams, especially in a Championship game.

Sounds like two very good teams on the court. I have no idea what happened with the fight, but I will say that if actual punches were thrown it is a shame, and I have no problem with adult fans letting the players who are throwing punches know that what they are doing is shameful by booing. I would have a big problem with an adult booing a kid because he is not playing well, but I have no issue with an adult booing a kid's behavior when he is throwing punches in a game.

The announcers did say that but they also said it wasn't because of Fredrick. There was nothing that happened prior with him.

 

I guess I'd ask why the defender immediately got into his chest when the ball went to the other side.

I didn't see it but have had several people tell me that #3's dad went up to the Scott Co superintendent, former superintendent Blankenship, and the Toyota rep to express his displeasure in a pretty obnoxious way.

I think the person who's getting a pass in all of this up until now is Head Coach Happy Osborne. Actually never heard of the guy until last night. Coach B for CovCath gets thrown out for saying you've lost control of this game. Osborne instigated most of the fan reaction buy his berating of the refs after the fight, his kneeling by and pounding of the scorer's table with his fist. And the worst of all I thought, taking the time during a time out to come all the way over to the CovCath huddle to "so called" talk to his player who was slowly coming to his huddle. I've never seen a coach get this long of a rope. I guess he must be some kind of legend or something.

I can't let my officials brothers off for this one. The trail official (one with not much hair) has to see it from the beginning and call one of the two or three bumps as a foul. That would have probably stopped this from happening. Not sure what he was watching as it was right in his lap.

Then Fredrick grabbed Wallace and they went to the floor. That's when Fredrick started throwing punches. Wallace never threw a punch. Then Hall from Montgomery came in and went after Fredrick. In my opinion they should have ejected Fredrick and Hall. Wallace should have gotten a Technical at most because he never threw a punch.
