It was pretty dire with multiple situations developing. The coaches from both sides got it under control and that was a good thing they did.

I have watched it now 4 times. Who started the fight is a matter of who you are biased toward. I could make an argument for Wallace the same as others could make an argument for the Covington Catholic player.

It really was the accumulation of stuff during the game that resulted in the tussle. Lot's of shoving and pushing throughout without any calls or warnings from the officials. And you are right, we will never agree on who started this one.

Coach Ruthsatz wasn't impresed with Bluegrass officials in a game with PCo last year in Falmouth. My point is that here again in another controversial situation, it is with Bluegrass officials.

Watch #3 for CCH (Fredrick). When Fredrick is on the far sideline the MC player guarding him comes up and goes chest-to-chest with him and pushes him twice before Fred responds. When Fred pushes him away the MC kid tackles him. So it's clear who the instigator was. I watched the previous 5 minutes of action to see if there was anything that led upto it. Nothing.

 

Coach Baci did what any coach would do and that is run onto the floor to try to break it up. Technically, a coach has to be invited onto the floor by the official but I think 99% of officials automatically expect them to come on and have no problem with it as long as they're not causing problems. Baci wasn't.

 

 

Going to have to disagree with the bolded after watching the film for myself. The announcers even said, "we saw this coming" as the fight was being broken up. Based on the clip I saw alone, its hard to really tell who started it for sure because we don't know what was being said, etc., but I think it's evident that this one had been brewing awhile (between the two teams, not necessarily between those two specific kids).

The announcers did say that but they also said it wasn't because of Fredrick. There was nothing that happened prior with him.

 

I guess I'd ask why the defender immediately got into his chest when the ball went to the other side.
