I think they are the favorite.

 

Figured they'd be up there. I haven't seen Bardstown this year, but have seen them enough times over the years to know that if they are having a good year, their system and athletes are the kind of team that could cause Knott some problems as well. Clinton County (coached by Todd Messer) in the first round could be closer than many would think for Knott as well.

 

I think adding NCC to Knott and Bardstown probably rounds out the consensus on discussion of favorites. Agree with the earlier poster who said Owen County could be a sleeper based on what they did last year in their regional tournament.

Does Bardstown have any size? I thought the taller, skinny Hall kid that played inside for KCC was pretty solid. Definitely thought he was somewhat underrated.

Is NCC totally healthy?

 

During the Semi's and Final's of the 9th Region All A tourney all 3 of the NewCath "bigs", McDonald, Schulte, & Weyer all played with flu-like symptoms. Hopefully they will be over this come the start of the State tourney. Word is Nick Seibert will be cleared by the doc's this week, however he will probably be nowhere near 100%.

You are correct Getslow..... Louisville Collegiate did knock Brossart out last year. I think Brossart will get them this year in a close game. Brossart is peaking at the right time and playing very well as a team and they can go 8 to 9 deep if need be and get some good minutes from there bench. Brossart can hurt you from alot of areas and IMO I think it'll be enough to get a first round win.

Knott Central's sophomore guard Cameron Justice received an offer from Tennessee last week. He can score 30+ easier than any player I've seen in recent years. Just a pure shooter. He's very good at creating space and getting open looks. Knott starts 4 sophomores, so they're going to be around for a while.

Russell is very solid with one of the top scorers in the state in Skaggs. Good length, not like NCC, who beat them earlier in the year by 6, but very capable.

Agree with this. I think they are very capable of going deep in the tourney.

Thanks on setting the record straight. I had it in my head that he was at Somerset. Too bad, would have been neat seeing Steve back in the "A" where he got his start while at Walton-Verona.

 

As a side note, Steve was the freshman coach at Brossart while attending NKU. Was replaced by some grade school coach from Sts. Peter and Paul, who is still hanging on in the Brossart program after 35 years or more. Wright has gone on to win the State Championship at South Laurel in 2005 and is now at Southwestern Pulaski - Sucker never could hold down a job!!!

I hope someone will give updates on these games.

Has anyone heard if the tournament will be broadcast on radio other than the ones the individual teams bring?? When at Richmond, WEKU I believe did the entire tournament.
