I'm sure the coaches as well as the kids no the importance of highlands vs covcath. All the hype and rivalry is the biggest game on the schedule. The coaches try to approach it like they would every game but using the tradition is a good way to get the boys going. I'm really looking foward to this years game.

The last Time CCH Frosh has beaten Highlands was when the 2006 State Champions Seniors were freshman. It been awhile. But I believe the drought ends this year.

One of the players told me it is Brady Gosney Vs. Luke Meyer for the QB job, and in his opinion, Gosney may have a slight edge.

 

I have not seen them practice this summer, but hear from a buddy whose son is on the team that practices are going well with continued high attendance etc.

Correct you are on full pads. As this day, August 1st is the 1st allowable day by the KHSAA for full equipment.

Unfortunately no. Big kid, very quick but I *think* the amount of work/sacrifice was to much. IMO.

Why would that be because Simon Kenton finally won a game against Highlands at the frosh level? Frosh scores do not really mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of things. Kids that are stars as frosh do not always turn out to be stars at the varsity level and vice versa.

And that means what exactly? If the kid is good enough to play up and compete that is where he should be playing. Again frosh scores mean absolutely nothing much like scores in the NKYFL mean nothing because most if not all of these kids have not developed fully either physically or mentally.

Keep living the dream through your young son if that is what gets you fired up. My gosh we are talking about starter football like it is the next step to the NFL. Got better things to do with my time on September 9 so I am sure I will not be making it, but I bet I can pick you out of the crowd at the game that is for sure.

It has been stated on here many times that one of the reasons Highlands is so successful is because of their youth program. Either it means something, or it doesn't. It doesn't get to change.
