Tough schedule for the Baby Birds. Who are some of the kids to look out for this year?

 

Should be an interesting year. There are some good players listed on the first couple pages of the thread plus some new faces as well. Right now I don't think there are any superstars but that could change as the year goes on. A lot of tough, fast kids.

HHS Frosh Schedule

 

That is a nice schedule for the Birds. All locals and play 9 straight weeks. SK, Conner and Cooper take the place of Trinity, LexCath and NCC.

I saw a lot of talk about the 2013 Freshmen team in another thread. I figured it needed it's own. Btw, I think there is only 4 HHS threads going right now anyway, so we need to keep it at the min of 5 at any given time. Plus it just might add some newbees to the site. I know how those FT people love to talk about themselves.

There are 4 QB's trying out for the Freshman. Luke Myer seems to be the front runner. (According to my sources. Haven't seen any of them practice.)

The last Time CCH Frosh has beaten Highlands was when the 2006 State Champions Seniors were freshman. It been awhile. But I believe the drought ends this year.

That has been a long time. No doubt this is a very strong CCH class! You can have all the frosh titles you want, but HHS finds away for classes to mesh and the emphasis is on state titles. Stop worrying about fresh all-star teams and start talking about the program in general. Enjoy the ride, I have been told it will go much too fast!

I would agree with you, Freshman Championships shows nothing except for who will be playing at the next level. Highlands finds away to be at the top every year. And what are you talking about the ride? What do you mean?

I think Birdbath is saying that four years goes by very quickly. Every year is a new challenge and you can't judge a team from the previous year. That's what makes this fun.

Correct Zuzu! I usually see significant strides at HHS between 9th and 10th grade years.

That sounds about right to me. Defeated them last year and twice the year before that for sure. I will rely on others to answer this question in more detail.

Put another way, this years frosh were 4 years old the last time a Cov. Cath frosh team beat a Highlands frosh team. Stating the obvious but that is a long time.
