If Coston and/or Quan are hitting 3s like tonight Holmes is lights out.

 

Bolden is easily the toughest one-on-one matchup in the 9th. Handle is so tight.

 

It will be interesting to see what college interest he garners.

 

Xavier Coach Chirs Mack seemed to enjoy the game tonight and I know he liked what he saw of Bolden.

It was Pauly. Took his time and just let it go. Heck, he almost did it again at the end of the 3rd. On line just short.

I believe 35-34 Covcath..Holmes had some dumb mistakes down the stretch that really cost them when they had a chance to win after coming back from 15 down.

Two key issues:

 

CCH has to get to the line more than 6 times against Holmes.

 

CCH can't worry about getting shots blocked. Happens every year. They miss a lot of inside shots that they alter and it is never a good alteration. Just shoot it.

He was a huge factor in keeping it close. I was really impressed with him tonight. You think if Holmes keeps Ruthsatz to 12 they win by 20, Frederick stepped up and made it a close one until about 3 minutes left. In the end Holmes made free throws and forced the Colonels into taking rushed shots, thus the final score.

 

Frederick has really changed his game. Last year he couldn't create his own shot and was simply a spot up shooter. This year he does it all...three's, drives the lane, mid range jumpers, and is very active defensively.

Packed house tonight and all were entertained. Bolden was "unreal" tonight, had quite a few "sick" moves that had all impressed. Coston was "raining" 3's like nobody's business. The Blue Colonels had way too many missed lay-ups/stickbacks, need two hands to count them. Ruthsatz plays hard and does a great job, but like Walter mentioned, he tries to do too much. Everytime the Dawgs looked like they were going to blow it wide open up stepped Mr. Frederick, the young man was fillin' it up.

 

 

Looking forward to Thursday night up on the "hill" in the Battle of the Fish-Eaters.

Let me correct you. Last year he WOULDN'T create his own shot. He's always had the ability to.

One of the toughest things for a team to do is be even more patient when behind late in a game. If there is ever a time you need to work for a really good look, it is then because your number of possessions are limited by the game clock. You have to make every one of them count. Be patient, get a bucket, then you have to get a stop. One possession at a time and you can't rush it on offense.

If the new EYBL team in KY is doing their homework, Bolden is already on speed dial...

His shooting form has gotten a lot better since last season. Much smoother.
