Congrats to Holmes and they will be even tougher on a bigger college floor but in my mind #5 for Holmes was the man for Homes tonight. Sure he only scored 17 compared to 27 for Bolden but if he isn't hitting 5/7 from beyond the arch Bolten doesn't get the shots off he did as by hitting his shots from outside, it opened the middle for Bolden.

 

Understand not at all saying Bolden isn't a stud or the real deal but #5 Coston was IMVHO the man tonight for Holmes!

 

Coston is really coming into form. He was draining it tonight. That's what makes this team tough to scout. You just do not know who is going to have the hot hand. Glover, Palmer, Coston, and Bolden can all shoot it.

BTW both teams shot extremely well from the charity line.

Scary to think how good he will be by the time he is a senior...His ball handling and ability to run a team is exceptional for his age and he is also a very good athlete...I've not seen anybody that can stay in front of him and guard him one on one...I'd love to see him against better competition, has he faced any elite competition in aau ball and

if so how has he faired?

 

Holmes struggled some at the beginning against Covcath's zone but once Coston started heating up, it really opened things up for Bolden and Palmer to drive.

 

Covcath tried to use, Frederick, Schuh, and Ruthsatz to slow Bolden down but nobody could stay in front of him.

 

Englemon was huge for Holmes in the 4th. Ruthsatz hits a 3 to make it 57-54 and Englemon scores 4 straight to put it back to a 7 point and 3 possession game.

First, hats off to Nick Fredrick. He played a complete game tonight and played his best varsity game ever. He was their best weapon tonight and credit to Nick R for finding him.

 

While Bolden is almost impossible to check I thought Fred did a solid job making him work. He almost had him in a 5-second count 2 or 3 times.

If Coston and/or Quan are hitting 3s like tonight Holmes is lights out.

 

Bolden is easily the toughest one-on-one matchup in the 9th. Handle is so tight.

 

It will be interesting to see what college interest he garners.

It was Pauly. Took his time and just let it go. Heck, he almost did it again at the end of the 3rd. On line just short.

He was a huge factor in keeping it close. I was really impressed with him tonight. You think if Holmes keeps Ruthsatz to 12 they win by 20, Frederick stepped up and made it a close one until about 3 minutes left. In the end Holmes made free throws and forced the Colonels into taking rushed shots, thus the final score.
