For me it was to my nephew. I gave him a voice activated alarm clock which had a place to insert a pic so I put a travel card we used during the Olympics in London. He'll be reminded everyday of our first trip together out of the country.

My wife and I take money and buy gifts for ourselves each year. It's much easier for us to pick out what we actually want and not have to return anything. Our ski trip to Lake Tahoe is also part of our Christmas gift to each other this year.

 

However, even though we had already bought what we wanted for ourselves, I surprised my wife with a Tiffany's bracelet, a pair of coach heels, a new jewelry box and enough Victorias Secret gear to last her a while. I won't get into details, but she appreciated my thoughtfulness:D

Also, My mother never buys anything for herself. She has always told me to spend my money on my younger brother and sister and not get her anything. This year, I spent plenty on my sister and brother but was able to get my mom a pair of Coach rain boots. She loved them.

I usually get her a gift card for her birthday. I decided to actually take a look around the store a pick some things out this time. That place is confusing.

I don't try to figure it out, lol. Only thing I have actually bought there is body spray and lotion. Wife's b-day is this week as well. So the gift card is either for Christmas or birthday each year

I got my 13 year old LSU fan,tickets to the Chick-Fil-A bowl game to watch LSU take on Clemson.

Got my wife a Google Nexus 7, for my grandson I got a LeapFrog Scout and a Bounce, Bounce Tigger. He seems to love both even though he's really too young for the Tigger.

My senior was pretty excited to open up her UK logo clothes. I guess it's official now.

My wife and I got our parents some photo blocks of the kids. Tears were flowing.

:lol: Reminds me of the year my dad got me a dirtbike for my birthday. Got me a CR 250 when I was 10. The seat came up to my chest. Had to run beside the bike, hop on and pop the clutch to start it because it was too big for me to sit on and start. He told my mom he wanted to get me something I could grow into :lol:
