If Holmes' freshmen were playing where they should be, they would be extremely tough to beat.

 

Andrew Arnold, Ian Broiley, Stephan Greene, and Brandon Moore all travel with the varsity so they will be in Florida this week, as far as I know.

 

Englemon, another standout frosh from that team has been playing freshman ball all year, but he is probably one of the better players in that league.

 

Moore hasn't played at all at the varsity level due to knee surgery but from what I've heard he is probably the most polished big man around the rim that they have...as far as post moves go.

 

Arnold sees regular varsity time and Broiley/Greene see regular JV mins.

 

If NewCath's Fr. Ben Weyer was playing on the freshman team don't know if anybody could stop him. :idunno:

I heard that the 8th grader at Villa who plays varsity dropped down and played 7th grade, so if true I don't see an issue with Frosh playing Freshman ball. Bo Shuh did it last year at CovCath.

I'm not a big fan of kids playing up and down. If they play up, stay up. When was the last time a team, who had kids going back and forth, won the regional tournament? I know Cov Cath won last year with Bo going back and forth, but that team was pretty darn good and has a really good coach. I truly believe the chemistry between kids is more than just playing games together. They've got to practice together, ride the bus together, etc. That may sound ignorant, but I've witnessed it too many times.

? I've never heard of anyone playing "down" on a younger team.

Holmes, Dixie and SK. I believe they have one loss between them, could be wrong about the record. But I know I'm close. If Arnold plays for Holmes he doesn't have an equal at this age level. He plays varsity too so it will depend where they are playing. Dixie has some nice guards forget their names. SK is balanced and gets scoring from several players like Colten Downs, Austin Freeze and Cameron Racke.

 

Holmes I believe has 2 losses.
