December 21, 201213 yr Argument A: Take away "assault weapons", start going down a slippery slope towards a ban on everything. Argument 2: Start placing armed guards in schools, start going down a slippery slope towards armed presences everywhere. I fixed it for you, you're slipping.
December 21, 201213 yr It's sad we have to live in an America with armed guards everywhere. I've seen the countries with armed guards as a part of everyday life. They're generally not very pleasant places to live.I AGREE! Not sure why some took your post the wrong way either. Yes, it is sad, very sad that we now must seriously look at putting armed gaurds everywhere, including schools, the world isn't what is used to be. Little kids, as young as 5 years old have to practice lock-downs, how much sadder can it get? I too have been to many countries where they have armed guards, military or whatever, and now it must come here, as I said, it's not the same.

He said we live in an America with armed guards everywhere. That's not true.

I really don't see it coming to what it's like in other countries. We're talking about armed security, surely you all have been somewhere in this country were there's been armed security.
December 21, 201213 yr I really don't see it coming to what it's like in other countries. We're talking about armed security, surely you all have been somewhere in this country were there's been armed security. Agreed! But it's just a sad reality where we must have armed security now.
December 21, 201213 yr As the person working at Target World told me, any ban will not stop people like us to get the guns we want, it may take a little longer to get, but we will get them. Also, When I was there Monday (or Tuesday can't remember), they said that was their busiest ever!
December 21, 201213 yr Agreed! But it's just a sad reality where we must have armed security now.It is, I agree, but until we can find a way to understand what's causing these people to commit these crimes I don't know what else we can do.
December 22, 201213 yr I think we need to ask if we need the security any more now then 10, 20 , or even 60 years ago. I'm not saying we don't need them now. I'm saying it should have been done years ago.
December 22, 201213 yr All for what they said. I've avoided these discussions, but these crazed maniacs are targeting places where they KNOW people aren't going to be armed (schools, churches, malls...even though there are armed guards at some malls).
December 22, 201213 yr I could certainly be in favor of armed security in all schools. However, I don't know if that's enough. It wouldn't have stopped this shooting: Brenda Ann Spencer - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia What do we do about irresponsible gun owners?

December 22, 201213 yr Define irresponsible. Well, I am sure that there could be multiple definitions. How about we start with those that allow easy access to their weapons and/or ammunition by those that should not have access to it? (Children, mentally unstable, those untrained in how to use the weapon, etc.)
