never mind

I have read and heard conflicting reports on the weapons used. The last thing I heard said that he had two pistols and a Bushmaster brand AR-15, but that the AR was found in his car and was not used. Then someone else said that all of the victims were shot with a rifle...is anyone (in the media or here on BGP) clear on what was used?

I've heard the same as you. Not sure we will get solid answers until tomorrow or later this week.

The Head Medical examiner of the State of Connecticut confirmed at his news conference yesterday that all of the children were killed by multiple rounds from the Bushmaster

Feinstein will introduce assault weapons ban in Senate

According to Senator Feinstein the bill she plans to introduce has been in the works for over a year. I wonder why they waited until now to propose it. I hate when politicians use tragedies for political gain.

Political gain , what a crock . common sense , If not now when , Between now and the next incident ?

NEVER! It's the second amendment, the Government has no right to tell me I can't own a gun if I'm a law abiding citizen.

What so you ban? If you say assault weapons then define assault weapon.

A hunting rifle, a pistol, etc. is one thing , an assault weapon is another matter IMO.

Problem is they're trying to ban it as an assault weapon. It's not. Either they're too stupid to know what an assault weapon is or they think we're too stupid to know. Don't see an ounce of common sense it any of that.

Define one. The Bushmaster certainly isn't one.

Define an assault weapon. Scary looking does not equal assault weapon.

I won't participate in this debate and will leave only this thought...I think the picture of a weapon that looks like a military issue is very often confused for an assault weapon. Anything made on the M-frame.

Here's how much I know.

I thought - according to Jack T. Colton in "Romancing the Stone" - that a bushmaster was a snake.
