November 28, 201213 yr I had a few beers last night with a guy that is very good friends with a former UK player who is now and O-line coach at a division 1 program. I was told that Neal Brown had been offered the O-cooridnator job and he had already contacted the o-line coach in question about coming back to UK. From what I was told it sure sounds like Neal Brown will be on staff, we'll see.
November 28, 201213 yr Hate the hire. Already said as much. Again, we watched HIS FSU defense give up 243 yards rushing to Florida last Saturday. That FSU defense will be more talented than any defense he will ever have at UK. They should have pulled his offer after watching HIS FSU defense give up 36 points to Florida. He gives up 72 points to Florida at UK. Just dumb. Music City Bowl my hind end. 4-8 here we come. He'll be gone in 3 years. Waste of money. Football mediocrity continues. I haven't read all the posts, but following up on PP92's. .. I am sure he is a good guy, but what is UK's goal? In basketball it is to be no. 1 and win championships so UK goes out and gets one of the most coveted coaches in the country and pays what it takes. So the goal in football is clearly way less. And while that may be the reality in the SEC anyway....do what you've always done and expect a different result.....

November 28, 201213 yr I think it's great that we have a Stoops as the HC. Never thought I'd see the day where UK takes 2 coordinators and the best recruiter from Florida ST. Maybe these hires flop, but I think things will def get better. There is good young talant on this team. I think these hires will rejuvenate these players and the fan base. Can't get any worse than it was this year. Hopefully these recruiters can keep ties with those Florida high schools and convince those kids that playing in the SEC will be better for their NFL dreams than playing in the ACC.

November 29, 201213 yr The basketball program has the prestige and tradition to bring in a top coach. The football program would get laughed at by a top coach even if offered Les Miles type pay from Arkansas. UK needs to take steps to improve. Was the hiring of Stoops a good step, we shall see. The next steps need to be improving facilities and the recruiting budget.
