I have two different sources, one of which is Beechwood's official stats guy, plus the obvious errors on the Beechwood players that I know from watching the game. As I said, nothing major.

Stats say the same thing

I was close, predicted the score 35-17. Mayfield always has BW's number, and expected about the same this year. Curious as to when this Mayfield reign of dominance will end, given BW's really good freshman class, but then again, last year's BW seniors were extremely good as freshman, and the class as a whole didn't pan out at all. We'll see how the future goes.

 

In the six meetings 3 of them were very close and they could have went Beechwood's way. As far as last year's senior class I heard some of their other good players left for other schools so I guess they didn't have as good as class as they did when they were freshmen. I have a few friends who are close to the program. They said their last 2 freshman class's are very good. The streak can't last forever.

Good question.. Not many, I'm sure.. Back in the 4 class setup, it seemed every year I went to LVille, Bwood was there and I went to several in the 80s, 90s and 00's..

 

Beechwood was there only one time in the 80's. That was in 84 when they beat Paris.

Those stats are not accurate but close enough.

 

Jackson had 30 for 213.

 

Nussbaum had 21 for 102.

Maybe yours are way off. The Paducah Sun had Jackson with 240. Mayfield's stats crew, one of the best anywhere, had him with 248.

TP I have been around but just not posting or anything. I haven't been to a Beechwood game since they beat Hazard in the finals a few years back. That is because I work at the Hollywood Casino. I'm always working on Fridays nights plus I didn't get a long with a few parents as well.

Do I get to talk about stats in this one? . Or do I just let the score speak?

Just watching the game on tape, several interesting observations, Mayfield's line must have had one of those come to Jesus talks at the half as they were lights out in the second half and they mostly return next year. Cards recievers uncharacteristly dropped balls that should have been caught in the first half but they were pretty good in the second half. Bw seemed to weardown in the second half and they cetainly lost their gusto after the second score in the second half. I don't know if they got tired or Mayfield was feeding off their success. Jackson just got stronger and stronger as the game wore on just like he usually does. I thought he was the best player on the field and showed why. QB Guhy was his usual consistent self. He will have a huge year next year. A shame many of the Bw fans gave up on their team and began leaving when the Cards opened up a 14 point lead in the 3rd Q. If Jackson was 1, Nuss was 1A, kid is sure good.

 

After watching it on film, I think the Cards just had more talent, espically in key areas like QB. They also had alot more experience throwing. This coupled with winning up front gave us the result it did which is what I expected. I predicted 35-14. I do think Bw was again the best 1A team we have faced so far with 1 more to play Friday

As a long time BW fan, this is probably one of the most depressing things of late. Our fans are spoiled and really don't know how to deal with losing situations. MF fans were amazing and know how to support their team.

How many times did Danville beat you guys until you finallly beat them?
