I am not sure I know what the heck happened in the second half. It is easy to say Jonathon Jackson and use that as an "excuse". But there is much more to it than that. The thought that comes to mind is the Mayfield coaches made adjustments that worked and Beechwood didn't. How else do you explain it? All you can do is tip your hat and say congratulations to the Cardinals. They have Beechwood figured out and Beechwood can't figure them out. I need to think about this one a little more to try and make some sense out of it.

 

It was obvious to me what was going to happen in the 2nd half. Excellent coaches evaluate and adjust. That's what MF did.Game plans are one thing, the ability to evaluate and adjust is another. They were having limited success on the ground in the 1st half and several missed opportunity's in the passing game, they adjusted and the rest is history. Plain and simply exposing BW biggest weakness. Pass D. Again, MF coaching staff did an excellent job and their collective experience was evident.

JJ was on the better team. Nussbaum is the better player/prospect. Nuss ran him down on a long run after being spotted 15 yards. Nuss is a special athlete ! Good luck to both in the future.

You gotta feel for Nussbaum, One of The best football players in The state IMO. The kid plays his heart out every down and is so versatile. Losibg to The Cardinals 4 yrs in a Row will Sting for a long time but he has a bright future at The next level. Congrats on an outstanding HS career Máx!

I'm not sure what position suits JJ best at the next level based on his size and speed? Outside of his tree trunks for legs he may be too small for LB at the DI level. Now with that said I do not agree with it. I would have him all day long and find a position for him. He is a football player ! Remember STATS are not important to me. Eyeballs are! IMO his physical stats may discourage some from him ?

Valid point, size and speed are his ONLY weaknes tho. I dont know for a fact but i have heard his speed is in the 4.8 range. BUT, this kid has heart that is hard to match. Great kid and student. I am not a football guru like many on this site here are, but I am thinking JJ would be suited well for outside linebacker.

As to Jonathon Jackson at the next level, I would take a shot at him at the D1 level if I were a coach. The kid is a player. Sometimes numbers don't tell it all. I remember people saying Chris Spielman wasn't fast enough or big enough. I say inside backer over outside. I have heard Jackson is a good student as well so there should be no concerns on that.
