Discussion of the 9th Region Preview

Featured Replies

NCC should be number 1. They feature 3 players on your top players list. Cooper # 2.

Then you can go with Walters team.

From what I've seen, Newcath and Holmes are the best two teams. I wasn't there for the game, but I've heard from several coaches around nky that Holmes really put it on Cooper over the summer with both teams at close to full strength. (Take it FWIW). Said Cooper couldn't handle Holmes quickness or pressure at both ends.

In the Holmes roster they have Jason Covington..........he transferred to NewCath.

When did the question of Barker not playing basketball ever actually come up?

He is playing.

I'm excited for this year in particular. I think the top 4 are interchangeable which makes it great fun for all.

Bolden at #15? No way. Way too low.

Agreed. When I went to Holmes for my preview, he looked like the best player on the floor and it wasn't even close. That says a lot, IMO, considering how good Coston and Palmer are.

Palmer is in a similar position as Beuter this year...talented young pg to take the load off him and allow him to show just how good of a scorer he can be.

Should be a fun year in the 9th.

I'll add/throw a couple things out there since it is a preview that I wrote.

It should be a great year of hoops in the 9th region. I wouldn't doubt that at sometime or the other that any of the top 4 teams will be ranked #1 in the region at some point in the year.

Lawnboy..the rosters posted are what the khsaa has listed (a turnover from last year roster), and you are correct on Covington being at NCC.

Barker is playing for Conner. He is a very good player. It may or may not be an issue as time goes on as he is such a top flight quarterback prospect. Missing time with visits? combines? Good luck to him and Conner.

As I said on Bolden, he will probably go way up, but has to do it against varsity. Game in and out. I think he will, but started him off at #15. There are lots of others that could of made the list. (Witte,Seibert,Coston,Cody,Howard,Barker).

Walter..excellent job on the team writeups that you have done on your site. Great detail.

Great write-up, Hokie No. Thanks for putting it all together.

Also, welcome to BGP!

I bet this isn't Hokie's first BGP rodeo.

Unless he reclassified, I believe Hemmerich from Conner is a Junior? Preview had him listed as a Senior.

Nice preview Hokie.

Holmes will be right there in the end but I would go with NCC as number 1.

I will add more later after I eat. TOG reference

Nice write up HN.

Love all the info, especially the tid bits about the teams in the bottom 10.

Really, Cov Latin returns the states leading scorer - cool.

Heritage has the biggest player and best concession in the 9th - did not know that.

Villa comment - glad its not my kid losing out on that playing time.

This is a 9th Reg preview TOG, not entire NKY. Cov Cath at #2 is also a little high IMO. If Tobler isn't 100% you guys will have some big problems against the big teams like Cooper, NCC and Holy Cross.
