Could Florida...

Featured Replies

Make it into the National Title game? IF Notre Dame goes down to USC. The Gators beat FSU, and Bama/UGA stand pat against Auburn/GT (which they should). Could Florida find themselves into the #2 spot behind the Winner of the SEC Title game?

Possible. They do not pass the eye test but the computers love them.

The first part of this is for Florida to beat Florida State and then ND would have to lose to SC. If Gators beat Florida St. they will have beaten LSU, Texas A@M, and South Carolina. That would look good if ND loses. Just wish in 2014 there were 8 teams instead of 4 but 4 at least better than 2. GO GATORS.

I can't for a playoff system to evolve in which 2 and even 3 loss teams make it into the tournment, AND WIN. Thus invalidating 20 years of BCS championship determinations!

I feel like Alabama & Georgia will take care of business. With more reservation, I think Florida beats Florida State. I don't, however, believe USC will beat Notre Dame without Barkley. So it's possible, but I think a long shot.

I would never support the runner up of a division whose winner of said division didn't win the conference title game.

Alabama last year and Nebraska in 2001 are the only times that has happened, correct?

No. LSU won the SEC Championship game last year, so Alabama was the runner up in the division that won the championship.

Correct.

And Colorado ('01) ended up winning the Big 12 title game if I remember.

Maybe I need to be more clear.

If you finished BEHIND the loser of the championship game in the regular season you have NO business going to the national championship game.

LSU finished behind the WINNER fo the SEC championship game. I'm cool with them going last year.

What made the Nebraska one so bad is not that they lost to Colorado, but that they were beat by like 35 points and run off the field.

Alabama

Good call. My point still stands.
