Could Florida...

Their schedule doesn't compare to that of Florida's or most SEC teams. They beat Stanford (a great win), Oklahoma and Michigan. Pitt, Navy, Wake, BC, Purdue very poor opponents. BYU, Michigan State, Miami average. I don't think they would be any more or any less true than any other title winner the past 5 years.

Your right about Florida, however wrong when it comes to if their schedule compares to the other SEC teams in the hunt for the title. In fact Notre Dame's schedule actually ranks higher than both Alabama and Georgia. Bama has only played three rank teams all year, and lost one of them. Georgia has only played two rank teams all year and lost one of them and lost bad. Notre Dame has played three rank teams and now what is a very talented USC team that is unranked. I understand most people on here do not like Notre Dame, but please don't ignore the facts. If people don't think Notre Dame is good because they think they have played an easy schedule, then people must not think Bama or Georgia is good either since they played easier schedules and lost too! I think both Bama and Georgia lost at home too! Just like Oregon who lost at home....

That is the thing that is wrong with college football. We don't know if say 3 or 4 teams from the same conference truly are better than the rest, etc. Because guess what all the teams they basically play are other teams in the conference. It is called a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. I hate how we use opinions to determine who is the best and who should be in the game. As we have seen the eyeball test is a poor way to evaluate too, because the eyeball test would have shown that no way a team like Stanford beats Oregon. College football is just completely messed up in how it does things.

They need to go to say an 8 team playoff where you have 6 automatic bids from teams who win their conference and 2 at large. This way it becomes more of a true National Champion instead of a conference champion like last year. The regular season still matters this way, but you also are proven yourself against the other best teams from across the country.

Agree completely 4 teams in 2014 will be better but 8 would be better still.

Good call. My point still stands.

I agree, but would expand this even more. I don't think that any team that does not win their division in their conference, should be entitled to play in the National

Championship.

To be honest in football, all teams should be treated as independents when it comes to who gets in the national championship game.
