STATS or different than projections. What you have copied are results of projections/predictions. There is a difference.

 

Since you are the Stat guy...do me a favor and look at MF's last opponent (KCD) is that the same team that lost to Carroll Co by 10 ? And Carroll Co was beaten soundly by the likes of Bellevue, Owen co and Walton. Now I do not like to compare scores and this type of thing but ??? Just sayin.

Perfect example would be the BW vs Mayfield game last year where you claim you should have won but the STATS say otherwise and the most important STAT tells us the Cards won.

ARe you telling me the frosh has made that much difference and nobody gets it but you? I have a hard time taking you serious when you make statements like the ones about last year game. Bw has a great team no doubt and they might beat us Friday but make no mistake, we are not the nearly as bad of team as you seem to believe

It isn't just the freshman QB that is making a difference, although what he is bringing to Beechwood is huge. There are a lot of changes in the Beechwood team on the field for this game versus Beechwood at even the New Cath game just before the playoffs. There are more than a half dozen player moves and other changes Beechwood has made to get better. Mayfield would have likely beaten mid season Beechwood by 2 TD's plus. I am not sure mid season Beechwood would have beaten a very good and talented Frankfort team. Beechwood today is a different Tiger.

I agree from a distance Beechwood appears to be a different and improved team. The transfer is back and healthy, the frosh, its all comming together but is it enough? You guys think so which is nothing new. Every single game between the two schools in the past you all thought you would win just as you do today and that is the way it should be. As for me, I think you have a slim chance no matter who you have added brought back whatever. For you to win we will need to aid you with turnovers. We have the best athlete on the field who is healthy and you couldn't stop him last year with a better team than this year so I can't seem to figure out how you will stop him now as he is bigger stronger and faster.

Beechwood may just seem different, they have only really played one good team in the playoffs and the game went about like I expected, a disciplined Bw team against a undisciplined FF team. IF Mayfield is hitting on all cylinders the whole game, look out. I do expect BW to play us tough and while I think Bw could win , I believe its ours win. Again, in these types of games, it's who controls both sides of the ball that wins.

I base this years opinion based on my eyeballs and I will admit I am guilty of comparing common opponents and opponent trees in HS.Since it has been claimed that BW has only played 1 good opponent in the playoffs ? Well based on my reaseach and knowledge of the teams in NKY. MF has played zero good opponents....look at KCD, They lost to Carroll Co by 10. Carroll Co was drilled by Bellevue,Walton,Owen Co. and Lloyd ! I have never pointed out anything about the "Frosh" others have. I have used the term underclassmen. BW has a talented D-backfield who has improved much since the Cov Cath Game they are basically underclassmen and will most likely win or lose this one.

The rest of the wins by both are pretty much meaningless for drawing any conclusions from comparision of this type. The Cards #12 and Tigers #59

Can't argue with you, we have not played anyone in the playoffs remotely close to as good as Bw. Bw has certainly improved, got healthy and made alot of changes. I also think the stats are scewed somewhat in Mf favor but still think that Mf has more with Jackson's power game and a balanced attack plus a solid run defense that will force Bw to beat us in other ways which I think will prove to be difficult. Watching the films, Justice is a heck of a pick up for Bw, that kid can play

The Tigers will throw the ball as little, or as much, as necessary. If that means 5 passes, great. If it means 15 passes, then that is what they will do. But Beechwood is not coming out in shotgun spread and slinging it 20+ times. With Fieger at QB in 3 games, this is already one of the best passing offenses I have seen at Beechwood and that is what I and many others have been saying Beechwood needs to beat Mayfield. I will also say the play calling by Hergott has been the best I have seen from him in his time as offensive coordinator. He is doing an awesome job.

 

I agree on this 100%. Ironically enough I was thinking during the Frankfort game how well and nice of a ball Fieger throws.You can't teach that. You either have it or you don't. The last guys to throw that nice of a ball at BW was Hergott ! And we know he earned a scolly as a QB at UK back in the day. But.....Freshmen are Freshmen and that is a concern. Hopefully he can keep his composer if things do not go his/their way...composer is also difficult to teach. Experience will help a player deal with adversity during the game. That he does not have much of obviously.
