Go to the game at 7:00 and the fundraiser after the game.

 

Wouldn't be the first time this has happened. Two years ago I went to a booster fundraiser after my daughter's regional soccer game at SK. Conflicts happen.

Game should be played on Friday. Plan wiser in the future, if you really want to help the school you will do it whether you attend the fundraiser or not.

Again it comes down to New Cath having the advantage and their players having exams. What will happen if they make them play in Friday?

Moyer Elementry in Fort Thomas schedules their Santa House on what is normally the 3rd week of the playoffs. Its on a Friday night and all day Saturday. There have been several times it falls on the night of a HHS vs. Cov Cath playoff game. Its doesn't seem to affect the turnout too much.

The reason the fundraiser is on this date is because that's when speaker Marty Brenneman said it had to be to fit his schedule. It's very unfortunate, but this is the school's biggest fundraiser of the year. Getting another speaker was discussed due to the date, but it couldn't be worked out.

 

I'm free on Saturday night and I'm one hell of a speaker. :jump:

Thursday is out of the question. KHSAA playoff games must be played on Friday or Saturday. Often referred to as the Dudley Hilton rule.

Fundraiser is at Paul Brown Stadium. Nice dinner and speaker, along with 12 silent auction tables, live auction, mystery raffle and open bar. 600 or so will attend. Event starts at 6PM. Yes, Marty is vital to the event's success, due to the event's reputation of having great speakers in the past. It becomes harder and harder every year to get great speakers, so you have to "take what you can get" when it comes to the date.

I'm hearing the game will be Thursday evening.

Talked to NewCath AD Rob Detzel yesterday and the game will be played Thursday at 7 p.m. at Newport Stadium

Rob just called me to say they are now officially playing on Saturday because of the exams... 7 p.m. is the time....

Great decision by Mr. Detzel! Afterall, exams are more important than football! (Really, they are!)
