I am not kidding myself. Holy Cross has NEVER hosted a second round playoff game (even last year). So there is no reason to believe that was part of the thought process this year. So that kills the "ego theory". Like I said it was a negotiation process. I was not there, but I'm sure it was something like the HC AD making a call to NCC AD and they discussed it. NCC AD could have told HC to "go take a leap" however I doubt that happened. If they could not work it out to reasonable satisfaction, I'm sure there is a mediating process or the game is played on the Friday night anyway. Maybe the HC AD owes the NCC AD a favor (who knows)? I think you are missing the point. This is not about one school "taking it to another" just because it can (I wanted to use different wording, but the blog censors would have gotten me). These schools have a vested interest in seeing each other succeed financially that is higher than a football game. Whether it be a major fundraiser, Texas Holdem, exams, a prom, a senior retreat, or a festival, the higher powers of these schools will continue to try to work with a limited school calendar and get these events in. Catholic high schools have a LOT of fundraisers. All are important. Administrators try to spread them out as best as they can over the calendar. Maybe you would like their job? It probably does not pay well for the hours they put in. I think these underpaid administrators would be insulted by the "stupidity theory". When conflicts occur with new unscheduled events (like football playoffs or tournaments), they work them out! It really is that simple.

I read in an earlier post that a Texas Holdem tourney was scheduled the night of the state championship. It just sounds like they don't think it through. As far as wanting that job, no thanks, I'm good. You get what u pay for. I joke.
