Freshman basketball

Scott will be decent this year. Not a very big team as their tallest player is only 6 feet tall. They can shoot very well though. Watch out for 8th grade Jake Ohmer. Kids a stud.

Highlands can forget about him unless he plays football.

KMSFA all state tight end his 8th grade year.

Then it sounds like he would have to look at Highlands program if he really wants a shot at winning state championships every year and having National attention.

He's a legit D1 prospect in basketball also. How would Highlands handle a two sport athlete? I think he may be a great fit for Coach Sullivan at Cooper. Their football program is not too shabby either.

Let's see what Cooper does the next few years. They had one tremendous class that was very talented. Don't get carried away...

Not to shabby is getting carried away? I didnt claim greatness.

They are doing great for a new program.

Wasn't Towles a 2 sport athlete for Highlands?

Huh?????????? The current frosh basketball team at HHS has 10 kids that played football this year and many will continue to play hoops in the future in addition to playing football.

Cooper had a great year! If I am a parent I jump at a chance at HHS! First the football is a lock! Contrary to what folks believe the cupboard is not bare in basketball. They have many pieces in the coming classes and a pure basketball/football talent would be sweet! Plenty play and are successful at both! You just read where an all state QB takes his 34 and concentrates on academics.

I am not knocking HHS at all. I actually grew up a fan of the football program. It is one of the best and they have tons of history. The basketball program on the other hand is a work in process and has been for some time. If I were a football only guy, it is a no brainer to go Ft. Thomas. A two sport athlete that may have a basketball lean or is undecided, I am thinking Cooper for my son. Just my opinion.

Sorry, but if the choice is between Highlands and Cooper, it isn't even a debate. I would be scared of the future at Cooper because so much of their success is tied into this senior class. I need to see Cooper do it the next two years before I would even consider it. And even then, Highlands almost surely wins because of academics. If I have to decide this year, I am looking at real estate in Ft. Thomas.
