I can't wait to see NCC play again. Saw them play early and they were awful. Clearly they have done a tremendous job in turning things around. This is what small school football is about. Sometimes healthiest team wins. Coaches have to make more adjustments to win consistently.

I agree to a point, but sometimes people make excuses. Somerset has had more injuries than anyone in 2A Football and all they have done is keep winning. Sometimes it's not been pretty but a Win is a Win is a Win. Lesser Teams would have layed down. Good Luck to the Jumpers on the run I think they will make.

Or the fact that NewCath just pounded a very good Beechwood team and is hot as of late, and Somerset and Danville haven't been performing as well lately, as far as OC goes, I think they lost a lot of respect from people in the state title game against NCC where everyone was so pumped about this amazing, high scoring team, and NCC shut them out, and by the way, this OC team's record and schedule is VERY similar to the last runner-up OC team. But call it what you will.

The NCC and OC game was year before last totaly different teams this year, and I'm not sure how good Beechwood is this year? I'm sure NCC has a good team, my point is there are more Northern KY posters on here thus alot more votes for NCC.:walk:

Shame was suppose to beat Secretariat. In the Belmont he beat Sham by 27 links. Was sham a bad horse?

I have gone ahead and listed Bardstown out of loyalty. Certainly when they are playing their top game they are a very tough out for anyone, but they are going to have to show they won't fold their tents like they did against CAL several weeks ago. I said at the time I thought that was an anomaly. I notice a new member named "slefors" has posted a vote for "Other." Presumably CAL has some supporters, and rightfully so.

With that said, I don't think NCC is as good as they were 2 years ago, but that team was dominant at the end of the year. I think whoever wins the game between NCC/Somerset/Danville game will have an easier time in the finals than the semis. Both Somerset and Danville seem to follow the same path as NCC, that is play a tough non-district schedule, whereas the teams in the west don't seem to do this. With all that said I think NCC will be a very tough out.

Not a very good comparison. Those who watched both teams prior to that state game that had football sense could see that game was going to be one sided. As I said in previous posts I haven't seen OC yet this year but when you look at the schedule and scores it appears to be similar. Long way to go to see it all unfold.

NCC is playing very well right now, but if one of the other teams has a very balanced offense and solid run defense Newcath could have issues. Their defense does an incredible job of taking away either the pass or the run. In games where the other team has been very one dimensional (ie. Beechwood) they find a way to take away your #1 weapon. It's quite often that teams in 2a outside of NKY are very good run teams, and occassionally very good passing teams. Coach Wagner does a great job of taking away those teams #1 threat. If someone is very balanced I could see NewCath having an issue with that match up.

Have you seen NCC play? I haven't seen Somerset so I really can't make a prediction at this point. NCC does have it easy I think to the 4th round, can't do anything about that. It's great to have confidence in the team you support but its naive to make statements like that if you haven't seen the opponent.

Yep power rating mean zip, they are fun for discussion to get some kind of gauge on a team but among top teams they don't mean much.
