Yes but since they were not part of the 3-way tie you can count your victory over them. There is no part of the rule that says you cannot count district wins.

Well, you would have Highlands, CovCath, Conner, Cooper, and South Oldham in the district and one of these teams would be sitting home. I know this isn't going to be too popular but if the Conner/CCH game was a district game I think the outcome may have been different.

I think this thread got away from the second course which was the above question and to that I say once again say down at every stop.

 

And for all your 5A folks, if CCH and Highlands were still 5A chances are either Conner or Cooper wouldn't even be in the playoffs.

If you are saying they would be in 5A along with CCH and HHS and 4 teams went to the playoffs, what 4 teams would they be in your mind? Cooper beat S. Oldham and Conner beat CCH, not sure where you are going with this.

I'd say you may have an argument about possibly 1 of the two not making it if you toss in s. Oldham, but no way are both teams out this year. I'd say the 4 teams that make the playoffs would be HHS, CCH, Cooper and Conner.

I'm not predicting Cooper will go far in the playoffs, shoot they may lose thier first game, who knows. What I was saying is just because CCH and HHS isn't 5A anymore doesn't mean 5A should automatically be dismissed as being down this year.

I know CCH lost to Conner last night, who knows if CCH played Cooper they may have lost to the Jags also, who really knows. But I will be the first to agree CCH and HHS are the top 2 teams in the area. I think if Conner and CCH played 3 more times on a fast track CCH would win all 3, but that isn't going to happen. You can only go by what has happened and that is Conner won.

They are an decent team with a really good QB in Burr.

Name for me one successful NKy 6A program whose success was not dependent upon an single individual skill player that elevated the performance of the entire team? A player who upon departure, reduced the program to mediocrity? From Durham to Simpson to Elliot to Ferris.

Might be some validity to this, but I REALLY see Campbell County -- though much success the last 2 years is due to Durham being a VERY unique kind of player -- continuing to have success. They are extremely well-coached and sound in all phases.

 

Those kinds of teams tend to be solid year-in, year-out regardless of talent leaving...those programs' coaches seem to figure out how to either develop another 'go-to guy' or they build that year's attack on a system that can be successful with more 'role-player' type players.

CC was 3-7 last year, with all of their wins coming in district. Not to take anything away from CC, but that just illustrates the weakness of this district. Furthermore, CC had the district title opportunity because of the injury to Travis Elliot. If he had not gone down, no way CC wins the district.

You may be right Coach, but I just don't see it. Without Durham the rest of the team didn't impress me much. He was their entire offense (running the ball) in the ggames I've seen.

Forced us to go to a second adjustment.

Steve Lickert is a very good coach. He has CC going in the right direction....He has done well every where he has coached..

I agree completely. CC only plays 4 Srs on offense. 2 of the 5 lineman are sophomores and maybe their best lineman (#74) is a junior. They also don't have many seniors starting on the defensive side of the ball. Team will have a different look next year but Lickert's system will produce a team with consistent results for many years.
