Good luck to Cov Cath and all of the teams throughout the playoffs. Watch more film, people on here that never played might just learn something.

M Way is CovCath best punt returner and indeed was on the field for both punts. If you remember the 1st punt was called back by a penalty on Conner and then Conner punted the ball again. Way was back ready to return both punts and as thus couldn't have come off the bench to receive a penalty and now has been cleared to play.

Glad to hear it got straightened out.

 

I know I may be wearing my Colonel Blue goggles but this has a similar feeling to 2001. CCH lost to Holmes of all teams on the last game of the season, while HHS rolled. Then CCH put one good game together and pulled it out over the Birds in the playoffs. Don't see it happening but you never know.

 

C'mon man.............Are you kidding me? Neither one of these teams could have played with either one of those 2001 teams They were both very good football teams and whoever won that match up was going to win State and the Blueboys were the better team that nite and Highlands was the second best that yr.

Poor mouthing is one thing but reality is another, no comparisons whatsoever except for the MUD.

I heard that the ref's originally called a # on the Cov Cath roster that did not exist-so maybe that's how it got down to two.

Honestly the whole thing was mishandled by the crew and they hurt both sides with strange calls during the game. The whole incident occurred in between a just completed 4th down & punt return when there were Special Team, Offensive & Defensive players coming on & off the field anyway- so no way on earth to accurately pinpoint who was legitimately coming or going off the field.

Would have been better off just pulling the players apart and flagging both with offsetting personal fouls.

Q.O.P has a good point.. The majority of the highly intelligent posts in this thread are about how many "brawls" Conner has been involved in this year, several posts about the Conner Vs Cooper game etc.. This thread got way off track about 3 pages ago..

Hey Dad read the whole post. Stuff between Cooper fans and Conner "brawls" was the referrals. Keep on the thread or start and new one. Maybe then it would be interesting.

To clarify- I thought how the ref's doled out the punishment for the fighting was mishandled. There was no way to discern who was or was not coming off the bench to fight vs coming or going from the field of play. Poor decisions were made by players of both schools- the refs threw people out that they shouldn't have & didn't throw people out who they should have. Would have been beter off giving offsetting unsportsmanlike pealties & warning the temas & coaches. They also did a poor overall job during the normal course of the game-albeit in poor conditions.

You are way off. Both of these teams are better than the 01' teams. That was not the mud bowl brother, it was just a cold game.
