Great episode, but I don't like the trip Rick went on at the end.

 

Would Lori say no to keeping Tribe Tyreese, so that's why Rick is seeing her?

I don't really understand why Rick is seeing Lori now, which is why I am confused as to why they are keeping the storyline going. In the comics, Rick ends up using the phone conversations with her as somewhat of a coping mechanism. Not understanding why they are trying to brand him as a loon.

 

Also forgot to say I hated the Andrea motivation speech. That was really dumb IMO.

 

I most enjoyed the Daryl/Merle sticking together sequence. Daryl is the most authentic character on the show IMO. And The Governor becoming much more diabolical is good too. Carl's character development has also been a pleasant surprise. He's becoming the comic book character.

I agree with your statement on Rick. In the comics him hanging up the phone was his kinda closure on everything, and up to this point I thought that was how the show did it as well. They need to progress his story before it becomes much worse. At this point I kinda wish it was a little closer to the comic.

 

Andrea is an idiot, and why she's still there just further proves her character is dumb.

 

Darryl and Merle needed this and I think it'll end up being a fine story line. Had they really done anything else then it would have felt rushed.

I was confused by Ricks actions as well. Very odd.

Yeah Darryl was too quick to dissent. Almost makes me think Darryl already has some wild plan in mind and could not let on to Rick.

Did not like the Rick thing at the end. If the show begins to show signs of going "Lost", I will not stick with it.

Anyone else pick up on the possibility that Rick thinks the baby is not his when he was holding it? The baby cried and didn't accept him and the girl said that it had Lori's eyes... but nothing about Rick and the baby sharing any features. For awhile I thought he was going to just drop the baby.

They discussed the baby not being Ricks on talking dead. I just thought it was reality setting back in after him being out fighting. He's now back at the prison and realizes his wife is dead and he has a new born baby to raise.

 

Andrea sucks. She's the worst character on the show. She gives any dude who looks at her googly eyes. I wish she'd get bitten already.

 

I'm also excited about world war z. Ill try to see it on opening night. Love all things zombie for some reason.

It's possible but I doubt if we ever find out that it was Shane's or not.

Kevin Smith was a guest & he said he thought the baby just reminded him of losing Lori & the whole fact that the two of them never really reconciled after Rick killed Shane. That's what I thought was going through Ricks' mind, but maybe you're on to something with this.

I just don't like the direction they've seemed to take Rick. In the comics he cracks a little (i.e. telephone calls), but he fairly quickly overcomes that. In the television show he seems to need a straightjacket. Not a fan of that at all.

 

I'm sure the show doesn't have a great deal of budget restraints, but I wonder if we're going to see a large sect of the cast buy the farm here in this last half of the season. It seems like they have established three major story lines for the rest of S3: Woodbury/Governor/Andrea, Prison group, & the Dixon brothers. Three story lines isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I do wonder if there are too many cooks in the kitchen, so to speak. I think the women are safe, but I would expect a number of men to be pushing up daisies when this season is over.

The S1 cast is really thin and the S2 cast isn't much better. I think if they start killing off many more original members they will risk losing fans. I think they will continue to bring in new cast members, like the Tyreese crew, to have someone to kill off.
