I'm pretty positive that's who was shooting on the roof in the preview for next week. He had a sniper type rifle when we last saw him in the first season and that looks to be what the guy has in the previews.

I've said since this season began that I thought they would reappear at some point. I'm still holding out hope. But I doubt it's him.

I am holding out hope that they will all reunite for what will be the Season Ending battle. But them being in Woodbury and kind of holding a grudge for being tossed out kind of foreshadows that conflict? Unless he can be turned to the good side?

Although I think that will eventually happen, I'm kinda glad it worked out this way. It gives a different perspective on things and kinda strays from the comics. I'd like to see how this goes. I bet that they find out about the Governor and how he really is before the battle and the. They'll turn on them and eventually side back with Rick and company.
February 25, 201313 yr Author Not sure on the next major casualty, but I'm feeling more & more confident one of the Dixon brothers (if not both) fails to survive this season. I can see Daryl dying & Carol losing it (as she does in the comics) & killing herself. The Tyreese/Governor angle totally caught me off guard, but I like how they've done that. I'm very interested to see how that is going to play out, but I feel confident Rick & Tyreese will be aligned with one another against The Governor by season's end. I think we see Morgan either next week or the week after, but I'm not entirely certain how they'll bring him into the picture. And I'm not sure if Duane will be with him or not.
February 25, 201313 yr I will say this.... Hopefully Tyreese and Rick meet again and Rick tries to clarify why he went nuts on them previously. I say this because if they do not meet again and then Tyreese goes against the governor and sides with the prison it will kinda feel rushed or just done out of thin air. Hopefully it makes sense story wise.

Can't remember if it was on here I was discussing it or somewhere else but I wouldn't be surprised one bit if the Governor survives season 3 somehow. My honest opinion is that he is too big a villain in The Walking Dead to be covered in just one season. In the comics there is a lot more to his story and he is a major character, sorta like Shredder & the turtles. I do think Darryl survives this season, I hope anyway. I think his character has came such a long way that it would actually be a major hit against the show if he was killed off this season. If I had to pick a major character death this season I would pick the likeliness in this order. 1. Carol 2. Andrea 3. Herschel 4. Beth 5. The rest of Tyreese's group 6. Glen 7. Maggie 8. Darryl 9. Merle 10. Baby Judith Characters not dying 1. Rick 2. Carl 3. Michonne 4. Tyreese

Of course, his shelf life in the comics isn't very long either when you think about it. He's gone after issue #48, I believe, when the group leaves the prison after the big battle. He's such a well-written character that he seems to play a bigger role than he actually does. That's how I see him at least. If he doesn't survive, it makes me wonder if and how they bring in another antagonist. Am I right that in the comics the only ongoing bad guys are The Governor & Negan? I know we had two seasons of the show without non-zombie bad guys, but I don't think it's an accident that the show's ratings have skyrocketed with the introduction of an effective villain. I'm beyond intrigued with where the story is heading. Glen Mazzara, the showrunner of TWD who left that position...he said he parted ways because he didn't agree with the direction of the story (i.e. he & Kirkman had completely different opinions). That guy is a TV veteran, so it makes me wonder if his gripe was with the killing off of so many central characters. Or maybe he or Kirkman (or both) are just control freaks who want it their way.

Everything you said makes sense. :thumb: It's certainly worrisome that the show will be in its fourth season next October & its third showrunner. That tells me Kirkman, as much as I love the story he's created, is a major control freak. If they do kill off The Governor, I can see them going to the subdivision area where they currently are in the comics. They've been there for a while & it would bring intrigue that the group encounters an already established group that they actually choose to work with rather than oppose. I don't know if that would hold attention for a full season, but the possibilities are there. The comics themselves have not been as good in the last ten issues or so. Kirkman talks like there is no end in sight for the series, and while that makes sense for him (people are eating this stuff up...myself included), I'm just not sure how long the main story itself can play out without becoming repetitious. For now, though, the show is still the best on television. The ratings are crazy good, even eclipsing a number of network dramas, which is unheard of for a cable television drama.
