Why is this taking over 6 months? I agree with some of what a poster put on the Zagsblog site:

"I am tired of hearing this crap over minor stupid infractions at best when teams like Duke skate by on their name. It was bogus that Ines Kanter could not play 2 years ago for receiving extra money that was proven for his education when playing with turkey.. Any one with half a brain knows the chief decision maker at the NCAA was a Washington Alum (which is the team Kanter dissed to come to Kentucky). That was a good ole boy call to make sure Kanter would never play one minute for UK.

NCAA you are a fraud and have lost all credibility for what you stand for. Nerlens should be cleared immediately. You have had over 6 months to get this done. I bet $1000.00 in 6 months no one will hear a peep out of the Duke case but surely a kid with no job and $67,000.00 worth of credit and $30,000.00 in cash is no biggie."

Sorry PP but it smells. And I'm not a Duke hater.

I never said it didn't but people act like the NCAA is going to make a ruling in a week. Not gonna happen. And I prefer waiting until the investigation is over before deciding if the NCAA is showing favoritism. Thomas said he didn't break any rules and is eager to show he didn't. I'll wait and see what happens. The Noel case came out before the Thomas case so we should hear about Noel before Thomas. And Noel is trying to play now. Plenty of time to find out about Thomas because his eligibility isn't a pressing concern.

Its like going to the DR, if they look long enough and hard enough they will find something wrong.

AAU has actually hurt the players in recruiting IMO, too many hands in cookie jar.

Yep, coaches and shoe companies. From there, the possible illegal contacts multiply exponentially.

You want to kill the snake?? Cut off it's head. Stop the AAU, you eliminate a LOT of issues.

The NCAA can't stop AAU. The problem started getting a lot worse when the NCAA decided to limit the periods that college coaches could watch events, in comes the 'handlers", the more the NCAA limits the evaluation periods the more influence "handlers" will have on players.

Oh, I agree. I wasn't saying it COULD be done, but stopping the AAU would help things. Getting rid of these "handlers" is a start.

No you don't. You just shift around where the leaches find blood...
