For people who have not been following at all, they saw Mitt laying out plans that sounded great. They saw a confident guy attacking and presenting something they think they could get behind. What those people wouldn't know is the fact that what he said tonight on the tax plan was different than what he had been saying, and the fact that he still has never revealed his plan on how he would do all the things he has said. Which as Obama found out in 2008 its one thing to say all the right things, but its another to have a plan to make it happen. I think Obama at least understand now on the importance of having plans in place to get things done. Mitt seems to be more on saying what people want to hear. Which honestly could help him out.

October 4, 201213 yr As Madman mentioned, debates are almost useless! At least for about 90% of people here on BGP and the rest of the country. We are already set, our minds made up, it doesn't matter what we think at all, they are not talking to us, they are talking to the undecided voters! Saying someone won or lost a debate is also useless! If Romney won, where is his prize or trophy? What does he get for winning? It's just spin on both sides, no matter how awful someone is in a debate, their side will spin it! Personally I thought Obama did well, Romney did better than I, and most people I expected. I think this is why people might say that Obama lost the debate, it wasn't that he lost, it was Romney shocked a lot of people. If you remember, the past week Romney's people even said they were not expecting him to do very well (maybe not those words, but similar). I think Obama did well! But Romney still does not go into how he will do things, he won't explain his plans. I want to know how exactly will he do things, and oh yeah, his 12 million jobs in 4 years is a complete joke! He is either fooling people or he doesn't know what he is talking about! 12 million new jobs in 4 years has only happened twice, once under Reagan (I believe) and once under Clinton, both times the country was doing very well, and not coming out of a recession. It simply cannot happen. Those who say they are not going to raise taxes are part of the problem, we cannot kick the problem down the road anymore! Anyone who turned to Fox or Msnbc after the debate (not those who watched the debate on those stations) should not be allowed to vote, period! People need to hear what the pundits tell them what happened and who "won"? People can't think for themselves? Now, I did watch the last part of it, and on CNN, as I was getting ready to head out I did hear their disappointment in Obama, but they were upset that he didn't come out swinging, he really didn't mention Baine or the 47 comment from Romney. They only want to see a fight, mudslinging, they have nothing to talk about if it doesn't get dirty, they hate it and say Obama lost! I, like many people hate how these campaigns have become, too much trash talking, talking against the other person and not sticking to what they will do, just tell us what YOU will do and leave the garbage talk home. But as soon as one candidate leaves some of it home, the pundits are all over him.
