Well I was worried about Homer keeping his composure when it came to a playoff game and being able to pitch well in an environment like that. I am not worried anymore, if he can keep his composure for those last 3 innings to finish a no hitter that shows me that he definitely has grown up all the way now. I am not worried at all now about him in the playoffs, and was pumped to hear this after my game tonight! Congrats Homer!!!!!!!

Happy for Homer and all the loyal Reds fans here. It's been a great year and its only going to get better.

Go figure; I've watched many games but didn't get to see the no hitter. Just got home from work.

I caught the game at Fridays. He got a standing O from everyone at the bar area. It's been a pretty fun season.

Enjoyed watching it. Wife came to bed in the 8th inning I told her to go back down stairs or she would jinx it. Of course she didn't go and he wasn't jinxed. Way to go Homer !! This could be a magical year foro our Reds !

I wanted to tell so many people but couldn't do it. Glad I saw it but at least a few people missed it because I didn't tell them.

So glad I had my DVR set last night. Wasn't able to watch it live, I usually watch the Reds games after the fact and hide myself from the results, but no way to hide from the results last night. Still enjoyed watching it and it was special.

 

I have a feeling that I won't delete that game off the DVR for a while!

In the stands at the Trinity/St. X game and got a text: "Check the Reds box score."

 

15 minutes later: "Check the Reds box score NOW!"

 

Managed to get the ESPN app open quick enough to track the last three outs in the bottom of the ninth. Got it's own moment of high fives with the people around me at the stadium.

 

Wish I could've seen this.

 

 

At the Beechwood game they gave updates over the PA during the game. Yes, they announced the the no hitter was being pitched before the game was over. When they announced that Homer pitched the no hitter it got one of the biggest cheers of the night.

No hitter, but one walk. Obviously, can't count the error against him. Serious question though: After how many walks does a no hitter becomes less meaningful? I've always wondered what hard-core baseball fans thought about a no-hitter scenario with multiple walks.

This is not a bash on Bailey (I like him and I love the Reds), but for me any walks and errors are less important than the situation in which the no-hitter is thrown. That is to say it is more impressive if it is during a pennant race or against a top team, and a little less impressive when it is in the final week of the regular season when the playoff spots are set and your opponent has been free falling for the last month.
