At least they were somewhat competitive in the SEC under Brooks. They won't score a combined 50 points against SEC teams this season.

September 16, 201214 yr WKU looked more like an SEC school. They honestly didn't look bad against AL. They shot themselves in the foot. I'm not saying they would of beat AL. They did give them the best game they've had so far.

He was 4-4 in 2006. 3-5 in 2007 and 2009. That is a solid foundation for Joker to maintain/build on. Lets not forget the school record bowl streak, victory over eventual national champion LSU, and a top 10 ranking (for a week or two). Nobody expects UK to compete for an SEC title (or even SEC east title) in the next few years, but bowl eligibility should be the norm and not the exception. Average 6-6/7-5 most years, with occasional better years and occasional worse ones. That's the level UK should maintain. And if you can maintain that for a while, then maybe you can pick up a hot coach and take the next step to being a consistent 8 or 9 win team.

To be fair.. its not the offense that is putrid. They've got a little life in them (especially considering the injuries/suspensions at RB). But the defense..... 50 points is probably what they'll give up per game on average.

September 16, 201214 yr The Brooks vs Joker comparison is a TERRIBLE one. Brooks wasn't winning because UK was under NCAA sanctions. Joker isn't winning because he couldn't keep the momentum going. You're seriously saying that firing a coach who takes a 7 win team and makes them a 2 win team within three years isn't the answer? Maybe if you're a Card (or Topper) fan. I'm not saying Joker is the answer, not sure who is if anyone. I just don't think UK can be much more than at best a middle of the road SEC program and at worse a cellar dweller. This is pretty much all they have ever been. With that said I will continue to hope for more as a UK fan.
September 16, 201214 yr WKU is a good, solid football team....will win many games this season....not a disgrace to be beaten by this team....this is the same team that was in Bama's backfield 6 times last weekend...Joker will be here the rest of the season and maybe longer... Yes, it is a disgrace to lose to a team from the Sun Belt Conference at home. Kentucky was completely dominated by WKU. This was a disastrous loss and I think there is no way Joker gets another year unless he does something miraculous.

And a dumb one at that. The problem is that the announcers said he was four steps out of bounds and he was out of bounds but it wasn't four steps. That's all BGC was implying.

September 16, 201214 yr He was way out of bounds, it happened right in front of me. I have a great video of it if you'd like to see. 1 (and maybe a 1/2) step. Even in HD slow motion replay. Regardless. The line judge bias when spotting balls was incredible for a college game.
