Conner 35 Campbell County 28

Featured Replies

Barker 32/47 371 3 TD passes. 110 yards rushing with at least 1 TD rushing.

He had about 390 total yards last week.

That will show well on film to Urban.

I know what I saw.. It was bad. And being "short handed" is no excuse for being lazy, and not knowing the rules.

The worst part of it all.

The worst part of it all.

Is it possible the official called something other than PI on the play I referenced earlier? That seems to be a basic and well-known rule. I can't imagine why it wasn't a first down.

It had very little negative impact on CC, in fact it probably played to their benefit. There were many, many times that a flag should have been thrown on CC, and the officials kept the flag in their pocket. I'll give examples: I would say that 90% of the tackles that CC made, the defender came in with his helmet, head down, flagrant "leading with the head" penalties. There were several times that Conner ball carriers were tackled 3 yards out of bounds, no flags. At one point, Barker was shoved so far out of bounds, he almost took out the cheerleaders on the track. On a couple of occasions, Barker had released the ball, and was still getting rocked after the pass was long gone, he was being picked up and driven into the ground. All of these should have been called. If you were at the game, you know what we are talking about, Queen of Pink said it earlier, they were very lazy and very bad.

I didn't see the game so I can't comment on the officials last night, but I will simply add that CC did have numerous personal fouls in last week's game, at least 4 of them. Don't know about last nights game, but if what you said is true it doesn't surprise me.

I was told the same thing by a Cooper parent.

You need to rewatch the "pass interference" call. No way was it a PI. You say the majority of the calls went in favor of CC, we must have watched different games.

Obviously, I support CC and you support Conner so we will see different things but like I said rewatch the PI call.

CC got out played the 2nd half but the phantom PI call took the wind out of them.

Big ups to the Conner broadcast crew. Their connection sucked but they are a fun crew to listen to.

Coach Stamm and Clary do enjoy doing the Conner broadcast and you can tell by listening to them.

How far into the game did the white hat go down? If they moved the back judge in, then that was bad considering how much Conner wings it.

So you're saying they should've left a sideline uncovered? That would've been interesting for spots, eligible/ineligible receivers, etc.

There is supposed to be a substitute official at every game, in case something like this happens, they will have a full crew.

Congrats to the Cougars on a great comeback victory.

Not true!

Not true!

So there are only substitute officials at some games? How do they determine which games have a sub? Give a little more description when discounting a point, other than "Not True!"

With the absolute lack of officials in high school sports I don't think it would be possible to schedule a substitute official for every game. In addition that sub official would have to be paid just like the officials who take the field and with school sports budgets being what they are I can't see the AD's supporting additional dollars for an official to sit in the stands.

I was saying that was bad that they had to move the Back Judge in considering how much Conner throws. Refering to the crew being short handed in a pass happy game. If they were short handed in the 3 yard and a cloud of dust days it would have been not such a big deal. You can never justify leaving the sidelines uncovered. Unfortunatley schools won't pay for a back up official for reasons like this. But you also have to realize without that extra set of eyes calls made by the Back Judge will go unnoticed.
