Congratulations to the Cougars. I'm really surprised that the Camels gave this one away being up as they were.

This game was an awesome game to witness in person if you are a Conner fan. They never quit when everything seemed to be going against them including some horrible calls by the stripes. They just stayed focused and kept to the task at hand. Lots of contributors in this game for the Cougars. Barker, Fogle, Way, Padgett, Ball, Loney, Creech, Brake, Kunkel, Wolnitzek, D Line, O Line, Coaching Staff. This was a game that had everyone on the edge of their seat. Fogle makes one of the best catches I have ever seen to extend the final drive on a 4th down. He was juggling the ball like a circus juggler and somehow managed to reel it in to keep the drive alive. It was just incredible, spectacular really. Great win for the Cougars and a great momentum builder for the start of District play next week.

If they are so loaded why do they keep giving up so many points on defense?

It doesn't matter how many they give up, as long as they score more than the other team.

Read post #17 carefully and slowly. Hidden clues in there..............

I didn't hear numbers for Fogle but he was, again, outstanding. He made a huge catch on the winning drive.

Stud.

What about the catch he made on the sidelines with less than 15 seconds on the clock to give the cougars the ball on the 1 yard line? I think that one was better than the 4th down catch. He had defenders draped all over him, still managed to make the grab, AND get a foot in bounds. Wow.

Also, I know the play was called back so it didn't count, but it still happened.. How about the second td he had called back for Penalty? Barker scrambled, found Fogle in the flat, and he made two defenders fall down, and left another in the dust.. He is very impressive player to say the least.

The Cougar D really tightened it up in the second half, and showed their heart. #74, I'm not even going to attempt to spell his name, so I'll call him Monster, played unreal on the defensive line. This is the first time I have seen him on that side of the ball, but he definitely belongs there. Kid was all over and couldn't be blocked. It's not official, but I'll guess he had somewhere in the range of 9 tackles and 3 or 4 sacks.

The Cougar tight end, Padgett, made some great catches in traffic tonight as well. He got lit up a few times, and still kept coming. Showed a lot of toughness.

Great comeback, and team win for Conner, great way to respond to a loss, and get momentum moving in their direction for 5a play. Players, parents, coaches, and fans should be proud of those young men tonight.

Both sideline judges threw a flag so apparently it was obvious from both sides of the field. These officials were either really bad or very lazy. I'm sure they have a full day pee wee schedule tomorrow.

I think it was a combination of laziness, and them being very bad. I noticed the officials seemed to miss tons of calls, make several mistakes regarding spotting of the ball, etc.. Also the white hat went down with injury, and they didn't replace him. They went with no back judge, strange to me. That pass interference that was called near the goal line may have been one of the few they got RIGHT all evening.

Clyde, I was asking myself during the game why the other pass interference wasn't an automatic 1st down, because I was sure that it was supposed to be.

I'll say it again. One of the worst officiating crews I have ever witnessed. They were the reason this game was close. Atrocious.

Are you saying that one of the worst officiating crews you have ever witnessed only had an impact on Conner? If they were that bad, I would expect it to impact both teams.

It had very little negative impact on CC, in fact it probably played to their benefit. There were many, many times that a flag should have been thrown on CC, and the officials kept the flag in their pocket. I'll give examples: I would say that 90% of the tackles that CC made, the defender came in with his helmet, head down, flagrant "leading with the head" penalties. There were several times that Conner ball carriers were tackled 3 yards out of bounds, no flags. At one point, Barker was shoved so far out of bounds, he almost took out the cheerleaders on the track. On a couple of occasions, Barker had released the ball, and was still getting rocked after the pass was long gone, he was being picked up and driven into the ground. All of these should have been called. If you were at the game, you know what we are talking about, Queen of Pink said it earlier, they were very lazy and very bad.

Conner? Have bad officials? Say it ain't so...

Great come back win for the Cougars!

How far into the game did the white hat go down? If they moved the back judge in, then that was bad considering how much Conner wings it.

White Hat went down on maybe the third series of the game. Very early in the first quarter.

I agree that the officiating was suspect at best (and remember they were short-handed). However, your claim that "90% of the tackles that CC made, the defender came in with his helmet" shows even greater bias than the officials you complain about.

I know what I saw.. It was bad. And being "short handed" is no excuse for being lazy, and not knowing the rules.
