High school rules question.

 

Conner had 4th and 16 from the CC 34. Pass interference was called on the 4th down pass. They walked off 15 and then measured. I was under the impression that it was an automatic first down. Conner had to run a 4th and 1 play to get the first.

 

I will assume they got it correct. 99.9% sure that's an automatic first down in pro. Not high school?

Tale of 2 cities. Or should I say weeks as it relates to Conner. Monster comeback by Conner. Padgett with 7 catches and 2 tds and he earned every one of them. Got hit hard on all. Conner D really showed some pride in the 2h. Conner overcame a very sloppy and very unexpectedely flat 1h to rally for the victory. They will be at full strength for the first time all season next week vs S Oldham after some injuries and suspensions. Nice job Cougars!

Checked with some other officials and they said it should have been an automatic first down. Luckily, Conner got the 1st on 4th and 1 but that could have been a huge call if the call should have been 1st down.

Same Padgett that plays hoops?

The worst part is it wasn't pass interference so it shouldn't have mattered. I am a CC fan and that was like going to watch a car wreck. Couldn't get a first down and couldn't stop them. We have a bye week but that was one bitter pill to swallow.

The problem is it was not pass interference. I know the official called it but that was one of the worst calls.

Both sideline judges threw a flag so apparently it was obvious from both sides of the field. These officials were either really bad or very lazy. I'm sure they have a full day pee wee schedule tomorrow.

I didn't hear numbers for Fogle but he was, again, outstanding. He made a huge catch on the winning drive.
