...I sure hope not, but I'd still prefer not to have to play them.

And I'm pretty sure you won't have to.

Well played, sir.

Good read about what it's like to be a lifelong Pirates fan and watching them collapse down the stretch on Deadspin :

This Is Now The Pittsburgh Pirates' Worst Season Ever

Screw the Cardinals. The Reds ain't afraid of the Phillies.

Amen!!!

Anybody remember the last time we (that's right i sez it, we) dipped our toes into the playoff waters against the phillies?

I can't cheer for the Cards, it goes against my nature, but I certainly don't want any part of Hamels, Hallday and Lee from a Red's fan perspective.

Philly is 4 back, they are done.

Reds ‏@Reds

Phillips 4, Valdez 6, Votto 3, Ludwick 7, Bruce 9, Frazier 5, Stubbs 8, Hanigan 2, Arroyo RHP;

#dustylineup Magic Numbers are 8 and 6.

Jamie Ramsey has been trolling hard with that #dustylineup thing.

Wilson Valdez has the 4th lowest OPS in a season since 2000 with at least 175 PA. His .448 OPS is easily the lowest in 2012.

Perfect fit for the 2 hole.

Perfect fit for the 2 hole.

Is it in his contract that if he plays he has to hit 2nd?

Votto should hit leadoff. He has no power right now and all he does is get base hits and walks.

Philly is 4 back, they are done.

A lot of folks thought the same thing about the Rays and Cards last year around this time.

A duck on the pond. 2 outs in the 9th. Come on Reds. Don't let the fish shut you out.
