Another pass heavy week of offense in prep for CCH. Mason Co. will go home with Histoplasmosis friday night.

 

I think you are exactly right about Birds working real hard on the passing game again this week. To beat CovCath, the Birds are going to have to be able to pass the ball well consistently. The last time we lost to CovCath (back in 06) we had a very strong running game and only an iffy passing game. CovCath figured that out in the regular season game and packed the box in the playoff game making it very difficult to move the ball. So I say, throw, throw and throw the ball some more this week. Get the finest edge possible on the passing game in preparation for CovCath.

You have to remember it's not easy for HHS to get games. No one in NKy except Ryle in the past few years would step up and play them..Mason Co. wasn't scared and signed a 2yr contract..

I think the margin will be 35-14 at the half provided a few hiccups happen in the Royals' favor. Then birds pull away in 2nd half to make it 84-14. Yes, you read that right. The only thing that will stop them from scoring 100 will be the weather. Rain predicted for later Friday. May show up by the end of the game.

I would doubt that Coach Mueller would allow that many points to be scored by the Birds, especially against a classy guy in Coach Buchanan and the Royals. Game will not be close ... I would expect something in the range of 63-6. Let's hope the Birds refine their passing game in advance of the CovCath game on the 21st at DCM Stadium.

Did the second coming of Jim Otis just utter the phrase "throw, throw and throw the ball some more this week." ??? BLASPHEMY! lol Hopefully you are talking about PRACTICE....because for the Birds to "get the dub", they are going to have to step up their game in regards to pass-D!! Bir is the best "chukker" Cov-Cath has had since Johnny Quast in the 70's! Hopefully Coach Weinrich has been working on some disguises and better technique for the D-backs! Special teams may have to be special for either team to win this one.

Of course he would never have the JV kids ease up, but he does have some control over the final score by the plays he calls, especially late in the game. As I recall from the Pendleton County game last year, HHS deferred in both halves, and ran the ball 90% of the time.

 

Knowing that CovCath is next week will likely add a few more pass plays being called though.

Ol' papa is considering making the trip up the AA this evening. Last few times I've been that way there has been a lot of road construction. Which exit will work best?
