It was probably a good thing that the game was called. It was not going to get any closer. Holmes's starting QB was out with an injury and a couple of players were sitting out for whatever reason. One was Peterson and another starter.

Holmes got on the board first but returning a fumble for a TD, but SK answered with a drive and TD pass. Then SK tacked on a 2 point conversion.

After that the rout was on.

Holmes still has problems getting the right personnel on the field and gets silly penalties.

I think Holmes heads to Cooper next week.

So what does SK bring to the table? Will they make some noise?

No.

Congrats to SK! Nice to see 4-0. Outside of UK#1Fan, who woulda thunk it?

I could see the Pioneers getting better with each week based on the way the season has went so far. A lot more will be known once district play begins.

After watching Scott Co.play Highlands , please don't go there . :scared:

Kuntz has been chosen by the Blitz on 5 News for a chance at player of the week along with Mccoy from Highlands and a few others.

Great Kid! :thumb: Congrats to SK on a Big Win tonight and a Great Start ! I think mom will be very happy this week !

As hrcarrier said, Simon Kenton is getting better. They are a solid team, not spectacular. They do everything pretty well and they don't make mistakes. They looked better now than when Beechwood played them earlier in the year. If they keep improving, who knows. I still have some doubts about them when it comes to district play but the district is not a world beater this year. They could go undefeated but I still don't see them being any kind of a serious threat to the top tier 6A teams. They don't have that kind of talent. They did a good job containing Holmes' speed but Holmes had no Peterson and no Coston. Holmes had big breakdowns on two pass plays. Easy TD's for SK. SK hit Sampson for a 70 yard TD play on a screen. Caught Holmes in a blitz. Big plays did Holmes in and ineffective offense with no Coston or Peterson, but credit the SK defense too. They play well as a team.

I'm thinking the same thing. If SK continues to improve in the passing game then I could see them making some what of a run in the playoffs. All depends on how they play in the district vs teams of similar size.

Unofficially

Passing: Kuntz 9-15, 225 yards, 3 TDs

Rushing: Sampson 6-57 yds, 1 TD; Kuntz 7-37

Receiving: Huesman 3-36; Wassom 2-26 1TD; Sampson 1-80 1TD; Winkler 1-67 1TD; Franzen 1-10

On defense, Bowling is like Jefferson on Fast Times at Ridgemont High. The kid goes sideline to sideline like a beast.

I think SK has the most balanced offense in the district. Ryle, BC and CC are going to pound it while DH and SK are going to spread it out a bit more.

On a positive note, SK scored 101 points in 2011. 114 in 2012 after four games.

Definitely a huge improvement from last year just on offense alone. They have already scored more points than all of last season not being midway through this one yet.
