So what does SK bring to the table? Will they make some noise?

SK could not do anything against X when they scrimmaged earlier this year. I'm sure nobody in shamrock land has anything to be concerned about! It would be a major accomplishment for this program to beat Scott County!

Who do you cheer for? You down play SK evey week! SK and X was a scrimmage don't mean crap! Scott County is done for week 10! X who cares! Trinity will have a dance with SK for state!

How did Samson do?

Sampson ran wild!

No.

9-21-12 SK 6-0!!!

Definitely a huge improvement from last year just on offense alone. They have already scored more points than all of last season not being midway through this one yet.

Its just the start of something good!

The jury is stil out but they have improved by leaps and bounds and they are young. I believe 9/11 starters on defense are sophs and juniors. The offensive is heavy on sub Srs. District play starts in two weeks so we'll get a better feel once we face Ryle in the opener. I don't know how to hanidcap the district, many believe Ryle is down but I think they will be there in the end. Campbell has a horse at QB so any given game they can win in a brawl. Boone is Boone, if they can run on you they'll make it a game. Dixie apperently has some talent as they beat a pretty good Conner team tonight. To date we've beaten a very good AA schoòl, a battered A school, a poor AAAAA team and another poor AAAA team. T and X are in another league with Scott County trailing but good things are happening again in Independence.

Keep it real. SK has played an awful schedule. They will struggle big time in district play. Can't wait to see UKFan choke on his crow. He will need a bucket.

RE,

How do you see the district shaking down?

Lemme give it some thought. Long day. Tired. I'll get back with you.

As hrcarrier said, Simon Kenton is getting better. They are a solid team, not spectacular. They do everything pretty well and they don't make mistakes. They looked better now than when Beechwood played them earlier in the year. If they keep improving, who knows. I still have some doubts about them when it comes to district play but the district is not a world beater this year. They could go undefeated but I still don't see them being any kind of a serious threat to the top tier 6A teams. They don't have that kind of talent. They did a good job containing Holmes' speed but Holmes had no Peterson and no Coston. Holmes had big breakdowns on two pass plays. Easy TD's for SK. SK hit Sampson for a 70 yard TD play on a screen. Caught Holmes in a blitz. Big plays did Holmes in and ineffective offense with no Coston or Peterson, but credit the SK defense too. They play well as a team.

Does anyone besides VOR have any game info? VOR were you there with the Tigers off? why were the players missing?

Unofficially

Passing: Kuntz 9-15, 225 yards, 3 TDs

Rushing: Sampson 6-57 yds, 1 TD; Kuntz 7-37

Receiving: Huesman 3-36; Wassom 2-26 1TD; Sampson 1-80 1TD; Winkler 1-67 1TD; Franzen 1-10

On defense, Bowling is like Jefferson on Fast Times at Ridgemont High. The kid goes sideline to sideline like a beast.

Kuntz was 10/16 239 yards 3 touchdowns.

Holmes big DT was a non factor. SK O-line did a really good job. Kuntz got sacked once on a outside blitz.

Thought this one would be a bit closer. Congrats to the Pioneers!

Simon Kenton's line did a good job. It isn't about containing Johnson, Holmes big tackle. He is load and will get better. He lost some weight from last year. If he loses some more weight and works hard in the weight room he will keep getting better. The key against Holmes is keeping their blitzes from getting to the QB and SK did a good job. Plus, when you have an effective passing game, you can't afford to sell out on the blitzes all the time. Once SK hit them with that screen, it slowed them down a lot. Good job by the SK line.

Holmes had three players out. Peterson and another starter (Cutright for missing practice??? not sure name is spelled correctly). Colston with injury. It hurt them offensively for sure, but would not have changed the outcome, no excuses, you play with who you have). Kudos to coach Liggins for standing his ground with practice/play rules. I was not there but SK clearly the better team from what I have read.
