This was a better game than the score shows. Owsley was withing 10 or 12 points with around 4 minutes to go. But a few ill advised shots and turnovers by Owsley took them out of the game. Robert Smith played well finishing with 20 points and for about a 2 minute stretch carried Owsley or the score would have been worse.

Lee got a good win and showed they are still the favorite in the 56th. But this is an Owsley team that could cause some noise.

I didn't know Robert was going to play tonight. It's good to hear he played well. Did Daniel Play okay with his injured thumb. I didn't make it to the game so maybe someone can give a few details.

I personally believe that if a team is so desperate to throw off the competition that they purposefully lie and mislead everyone, including people on this forum then they must not have much confidence in their team. This is obvious as all the lying and sneaking did not work. Neither SMith nor Neeley brought their gear to the gym. All this ballyhoo about Poor Robert Smith was nothing more than a bunch of crock that got Owsley absolutely NOTHING.

I disagree with Augger. The game was never really close. Owsley NEVER led, nor came close to leading, and pretty much stayed behind in double digits all night. Lee County demonstrated their ability to play despite the circumstances and proved they cannot be thrown off their game.

The game had a horrible technical called on Lee's bench for no reason, the coaches were talking to their players DURING A TIME OUT and a technical was called. This was after one of the officials elbowed one of Lee Co's Cheerleaders in the chest and allowed Neeley to verbally abuse him all night. The Verbal Abuse included plenty of foul language which never warranted a technical. This was also after an OBVIOUS goal tending call was missed. Despite the attempt to take Coach Wright out of the game, he still coached an excellent game and led his team to a commanding victory.

Way to Go Bobcats.

Daniel Neeley finished the game with 17 points but he had a few turnovers and he seemed to force some shots in the final minutes of the game.

I find that hard to believe given your "expertise" and knowledge of Owsley County basketball.

Seemed like Robert knew all the plays pretty well and ran the point pretty well for someone who NEVER attended any practices, or well I guess OFFICIALLY never attended any practices.

I will agree with the goal tending call on Owsley. In the 4th quarter Owsley had chances to cut the lead to single digits with alot of time left in the game.

I dont know what ball game you watched but the one I was at Robert Smith shot it in Lee Counties eye from the three point line on 3 out 4 possesions. Scoring 20 points agianst one of the top teams in the region in your first game back in almost a year. I would say he played well.

I cannot handle all of this off the court bickering....you guys need to go on the Jerry Springer show and bring your true feelings out of the closet.

Robert Smith shot as many air balls as he made threes. But it was obvious he had practiced with the team as he ran all the plays well. When the game was out of hand he did land some threes, but the lead stayed between 14 and 18 form th 4 minute mark in the third to the end with an occasional drop to 11 for a few seconds. Lee was in control the whole way

It looks like some Lee County fans need to try and win with dignity. Can't we all just get along. Yes Lee Co beat Owsley Co twice. Congrats, but let it go. This is all about these kids not some foolish pride between two Counties. I'm glad to hear that Robert Smith got to play in the game. REMEMBER..he is still a young man who is just trying to get the best for himself. YOU would do the same LEECOBOBCATFAN! Don't get down on the Professor, he didn't have a clue Robert was going to play. If you remember or saw one of my earlier posts, I stated that Robert may play against Lee. The State has punished him long enough, and we all know why the State got involved...DON"T WE!

I am disaapointted in the misleading. But to no avail Lee won by more than they did at Owlsley. I saw Daniel prior to the game and he stated "I am out 6 to 8 weeks". I guess desperation is setting in for the season. I will continue to wish the Owls and Neeley success in the future.

Well you can find that hard to believe all you want to. I DID NOT KNOW that Robert was playing tonight. I am not part of the Owsley County system. I am retired. I am not privey to inside knowledge of what's going on at Owsley, and I don't care very much for your accusatons!!! :irked:

I do pick up a few things by what I am told by former associates, and some of the kids. I do know Robert was not practicing.......he couldn't, if he looked crossed-eyed someone wrote a letter to the KHSAA. I knew Neeley had a injured thumb from a phone call I reieved after it happened. I know he told me yesterday that he didn't think he could play tonight. But Owsley officials do not call me to inform me of last minute changes. I guess I'm not that important anymore, but can live with it.

Everybody needs to remember it is just a ball game. Lee played well and has one of the top teams in the region. Nobody can argue with that. Who knows how long the officials at Owsley have known that Smith could play that matter was between Owsley County, Robert Smith, and the KHSAA. The good news , is that he gets to play, he is still a young man who just wants to play basketball. He has served his penalty and now he should be able to finish out his career without outside criticism.
