August 28, 201214 yr I don't buy the school's reasoning as it not being original. Did Penn State get touchy over Neil Diamond lyrics?
August 28, 201214 yr I've never been to a Penn State football game, but I'm assuming that they must have always played Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline" every game based on what I heard on the radio this morning. It looks like the administration has decided to ban the song from being played because of the line, "Touching me, touching you."

August 28, 201214 yr Well it's obvious new Penn State Administration trying to move away from the scandal as fast as possible. Just start a new song tradition.
August 28, 201214 yr Sweet Caroline at PSU games was one of the best scenes in college athletics. I think they are going overboard but I can understand them trying to move way past the scandal.
August 28, 201214 yr Hard to argue with the move. They need a renewal of image and having their entire stadium singing about "touching me, touching you" might not be the best look. It's unfortunate for a program as steeped in tradition as PSU, but it's hard to feel sorry for them either. The Sandusky era is part of it now.
