I don't know much about this Scott Co. team, but if they are like the Bryan Station team that came up a few years ago in the playoffs I don't know if its an upset except for the pure fact it is a home game. Obviously, beating Highlands at home is a very tough thing to do, I think you have to say its an upset set but equally matched teams.

Win or lose somehow I think you will be feelin' fine by midnight!

I saw a website a couple weeks ago that had 6 HHS Juniors in the Top 40 of Greater Cincinnati in 2013...The junior class is extremely deep and talented.

 

Yet unproven outside of Harris. Potential is there but until they consistently perform at the Varsity level they will not be considered a Superstar. Heck PT didn't start putting up Superstar numbers until his JR yr. It's the 2nd game of the season folks and this team needs some games to gel and figure out the right combinations.

The poll is pretty close and some of the posts suggest this game is even.

I think that speaks volumes as to what posters really think - a Scott Co win would be a big upset.

 

Well, I was one of those 8, and I have stated that I don't think it is a upset if Scott Co wins.....

Several things that might sway the poll:

 

A) Birds are a different animal at home

B)more posters are Highlands fans

C)more people root for NKY teams if their from the area

D) Advantage to HHS for coaching

 

Should be there, I have to drive from Indy

He_ _ yes it's an upset. Commerce will come to a halt, the number of post on here will quadruple in size, kids in Ft. Thomas 20 years down the road will talk about the night the Mighty Birds went down at DCM. Should Heck freeze over and Scott County win they better enjoy it, because it won't be long before Scott County High School #2 is built anyway.

Of the 21 state title teams , how many had superstars ? Sure their are years when Highlands had superstars, but more often than not, the state title teams consisted of a TEAM full of kids with one goal in mind and that was a state championship. I could name dozens of these so called "superstars" but I also remember the other players that made these players superstars.The ones that played in the NFL, and the ones going to big college programs are easiest to remember,but also remember the great high school players that didn't get the D1 scholly, and maybe didn't go to college at all. We all like to see the kids names on something as simple as a newspaper article or on BGP, it's great for everyone involved from the cheerleaders to the faculty.Just in recent history people were talking about a mediocre Highlands team, all they did was run the table and win a state trophy. Give me a team that will work hard and together as a team, and you can have your one or two superstars. If this team brings home another state title, ALL of these kids, like the others, will be superstars as well.

 

Since I've been paying attention: 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2004, 2008,2009,2010,2011 had what I would believe to be at least one superstar (nationally recruited or all state player). Highlands has a lot of hard working kids, but let's not act like they are a bunch of kids playing way above their talent level. Their talent level is extremely high normally.

I voted yes because I think it will be CONSIDERED by most people to be an upset, but, Scott Co has there program playing at a pretty high level these days, so, in reality, it wouldn't be much of an upset..
