Reds at Cubs Series 8/9 thru 8/12/12

Featured Replies

I'm not as concerned. Hell, the Yankees had two four game losing streaks within a two week period. But they, like the Reds, have also shown they can run quite a few off in a row.

I wouldn't compare their offensive team to the Reds, they are not even close. The youngest guy on their active roster not a pitcher is 29 years old. There are a lot of rookies on this Reds team and one of the few things that I can agree with Dusty on is the fact that they are getting into unchartered territory and he is concerned about them. If they can't handle the pressure of a race and Stubbs, Bruce and Ludwick continue to be up and down where do they turn for offense? Votto as good as he is is probably going to struggle initially and hopefully won't press to do too much when he comes back. This team could just as easily lose 10 in a row imo before they snap out of it. How would the youngsters handle that?

Good thing I didn't compare their offensive team to the Reds, then.

Regardless, both have been hot and cold at times. Which happens in a 162 game season.

I just want Votto back.

Reds are done. It's over. It was a nice ride. Turn out the lights. The party is over. The fat lady is singing. The Pirates and Cards have it in the bag. The Reds choked. Fire Dusty. Wait till next year. When's Midnight Madness? Fire Jocketty. Fire Castellini. Fire Jacoby. Fire Price. Fire Hatcher. Fire Berry. Fire Speier. Fire Lopez. Fire Jenkins. Fire Stefanski. Fire Lessard.

I think that covered everybody. That should do it.

So Marty, the Cowboy, Jim Day, Kelch and the Stowes survive the purge.

No.

^ Nothing yet. Something similar to yesterday with Rolen at 3B and Frazier at 1B. Paul might get a stat.

Stolen base? AB? BB? Hit? HR? RBI? E? K?

Don't you love posts from mobile devices? This was easy to figure but some of them?

Need good Homer to show up today. Wind in or out today in Wrigley? The forecast calls for winds from the North 20-25mph.

If Rolen's hurt DL him. This is ignorant playing a man down.

That lineup will produce 2 runs max.

Somehow we all knew that this would happen, Rolen just can't hold up for too long a period of time. They should DL him if he's really hurting and get him ready for September when they will need his veteran leadership.

In. The Vegas guys released the O/U as 6.5.

How this team without Votto and you might as well say Bruce for a month did things that the Big Red Machine and other better Reds teams never did going back into the 1800's is a bigger mystery than Stonehendge. Win or lose this team has only two players worth paying the price of a ticket, (Votto and Chapman) and Chapman hasn't pitched since he hit McCutcheon accidently and unintentionally in the shoulder. Rolen is my second favorite player on the team

Incorrect. He pitched the very next night.
