August 10, 201214 yr Germano works Bailey for a one out single. A 10 pitch AB. Great AB. That will surely come back to haunt Bailey.
August 10, 201214 yr That's fine, but he's clearly not gassed because he's thrown more innings than this on multiple occasions. Not in the Show he hasn't. Those innings are clearly much more taxing than those thrown in the minors.
August 10, 201214 yr Not in the Show he hasn't. Those innings are clearly much more taxing than those thrown in the minors. Innings are innings...
August 10, 201214 yr Innings are innings... That's not true at all. You don't think the average pitcher exerts more energy in his pitches at the major league level than they do in the minor leagues?
August 10, 201214 yr That's not true at all. You don't think the average pitcher exerts more energy in his pitches at the major league level than they do in the minor leagues? In 2009 Bailey was still trying to stick at the Major League Level so I'd assume he put a lot of energy in order to be successful. If it matters then why do you see SP in spring training go down to the bullpen after starts and throw more? Shouldn't they just stay in the game? I'm sure they don't put much effort into those pitches, but they still serve a purpose.
August 10, 201214 yr When you run, you're dangerous. Stubbs steals 2nd, and scores when the throw gets by the shortstop, and CF.
August 10, 201214 yr Starlin Castro just had the old decoy pulled on him by Phillips and Cozart on a single to RF. Castro was on 1st, was slowed down big time by the decoy, and was thrown out by a mile at 3B by Paul. Great job by the Reds middle infielders.
August 10, 201214 yr He's gased. He's already thrown a career high in innings. How sad is it you've got a 26 year old pitcher that is toast in early August? Asinine.
August 10, 201214 yr His last 3-4 starts would say otherwise....:idunno: So not pitching well is a sign of a 26 yr old that is "gased?"
August 10, 201214 yr So not pitching well is a sign of a 26 yr old that is "gased?" He's never thrown this many innings in a major league season before, his WHIP has spiked considerably, I'd say it's a legit concern whether you're willing to acknowledge it or not.
August 10, 201214 yr I've never seen an OFer be that far away from a fly ball. Missed it. What play are you talking about?
