August 10, 201214 yr He's never thrown this many innings in a major league season before, his WHIP has spiked considerably, I'd say it's a legit concern whether you're willing to acknowledge it or not. My point is that you can't just assume he gassed. Could he have arm fatigue? Maybe. To automatically have a knee-jerk reaction is silly. Homer has been up and down all year. If he can't throw strikes (and he struggled today) then he increases his chances of allowing runs. It's a fair question to ask. It's asinine to assume it's already a fact.

August 10, 201214 yr Missed it. What play are you talking about? Homer's last batter. Dude hit a long fly ball to RF. Kid got all turned around and by the time he got to the warning track the ball was 30 to 40 feet to his right.
August 10, 201214 yr He has thrown this many innings in the minors before. And I stand by my assertion that throwing innings in the majors is much more taxing both mentally and physically than it is in the minors.

August 10, 201214 yr Marshall walks the lead off batter ( a lefty) to start the bottom of the 7th. :ohbrother:

August 10, 201214 yr Followed by a base hit. 1st and 3rd, nobody. Just go ahead and bring in Broxton, and get Chapman ready.
August 10, 201214 yr Shot up the middle that Marshall knocks down, and gets the batter at 1st. Runners on 2nd and 3rd, 1 out. Sam LeCure called in from the bullpen. Meanwhile Simon continues to scratch his head, and wonder what he has to do.

Meanwhile Simon continues to scratch his head, and wonder what he has to do. Remember 2 weeks ago when Dusty said Simon had earned the right to pitch in more meaningful situations? He was given one inning with a 1 or 2 run lead, held it, and was regulated back to mop up work. Some reward.
August 10, 201214 yr And LeCure gets Soriano to pop up to shallow LF. Cozart should have yielded to Ludwick. Not a smart play on his part.
August 10, 201214 yr Castro with a 2 run double. 8-6. The Reds will blow the lead. Write it down. Dusty refuses to go get Broxton in the 7th.
August 10, 201214 yr Why the hell did they just pitch to Casto? 1st base open, two outs and a rookie with all of 15 ML PAs to his name on deck????
