August 10, 201214 yr Ondrusek is exactly why Jocketty went out and got Broxton. I have no faith whatsoever in the Big "O" at this point and time. He has gone from lights out to awful.
August 10, 201214 yr Don't look now but the Cards are only 5 games back in the central division and 2 1/2 back in the wildcard. Anybody getting a little nervous about the way this Reds team is starting to look now? The offense has gone stagnant again against scrub pitching. Thank god they have such an easy schedule or so we thought. Somebody forgot to tell the other team that they didn't have a chance. Think chapman will get to pitch again anytime soon? He should be well rested next time, hope he can find the mound.
August 10, 201214 yr Old man can't even get a bunt down. He is awful at the plate. Bunts aren't important.
August 10, 201214 yr Remember when Cairo was getting starts that clearly should have been given to Frazier? That was fun.
August 10, 201214 yr Here's my biggest butt chafer of the evening. Last inning, the Cubs closer can't find the plate with a map. Great AB by Paul (LRCW's boy), works the count, gets one he can punch into the hole at short and gets on. Probably a 9 pitch AB. Who strolls to the plate? Spidermonkey! Mind you hasn't been off the bench all night, and what does he do down 2 runs? Does he take one to get an idea? Does he take one because they need baserunners? Does he take one because the cat on the bump can't throw 2 strikes in a row? Nope, spidermonkey promptly wails at the first pitch letter high and laces a text book one hop 4-6-3. That's not only stupid, it's selfish. That frosts my butt.

August 10, 201214 yr I am more concerned about STL than the Pirates. Why? Berkman is out again. Carpenter is out for the year. Garcia is still out. Burnett is a stud for Pittsburgh and Wandy and McDonald should be able to handle that weak schedule going forward.
August 10, 201214 yr Reds are done. It's over. It was a nice ride. Turn out the lights. The party is over. The fat lady is singing. The Pirates and Cards have it in the bag. The Reds choked. Fire Dusty. Wait till next year. When's Midnight Madness? Fire Jocketty. Fire Castellini. Fire Jacoby. Fire Price. Fire Hatcher. Fire Berry. Fire Speier. Fire Lopez. Fire Jenkins. Fire Stefanski. Fire Lessard. I think that covered everybody. That should do it.
August 10, 201214 yr I'm not as concerned. Hell, the Yankees had two four game losing streaks within a two week period. But they, like the Reds, have also shown they can run quite a few off in a row.
August 10, 201214 yr I am more concerned about the Reds. Same here, this team is no better offensively than they were before the 10 game win streak. I think the win streak was a combination of weak schedule, clutch hitting with a few hot streaks and good pitching. The only constant of those 3 things is the schedule. Maybe they can come out of this but even with Votto almost ready the offense is really worrying me right now and there is literally noone to go to on the bench but Paul. What does Jocketty do when Votto is activated, send Paul down to Louisville? Can they make it to September callups with this weak bench and is there even anyone in the minors that can help? I still think Jocketty has to be looking at all options to add some offense to this team.
August 10, 201214 yr Author ^ Nothing yet. Something similar to yesterday with Rolen at 3B and Frazier at 1B. Paul might get a stat.
