With all the strikeouts, Reds fans would still be all over him. Dunn's two worst OBP's were .354 and .365 and people still were all over him. I always felt #2 was the perfect place in the order for Dunn - high OBP, big lefty in box to help #1 steal bases, HR power to generate runs, low double plays because of high K's/poor contact - he would have been great at #2 in the order.

July 26, 201214 yr ^ I know you are just kidding about CoCo being traded again, but closers are like kickers in the NFL. It is great to have a good one, you love them when they succeed and hate them when they fail, they are irreplaceable and easily replaceable at the same time, they never seem to do as well with their second team as they do with their first team ... and I would never spend big money on a closer (except Mariano) or a kicker.

I always felt #2 or #6 might be the best spots for him, if you were really concerned about the strikeouts.

Defense, however, is not a place I would start . . . or end. He covers lots of ground and makes lots of plays. "Defense up the middle and offense on the corners."
